Oh man, I can't wait to stop by Target tomorrow morning on my way to work to pick up the special edition 2-disc version, which I believe includes a book?
Yep.

Yep.
If you're referring to the recently released Casino Royale 3-Disc Collector's Edition, then definitely not.
This debut Quantum of Solace DVD (even the two-disc edition) is relatively light on special features, just like the original Casino Royale DVD release.

could you post some pics from the desert scene in the end and the from the fight scene at the hotel?menus and Tosca screens: http://img17.imagesh...lcsnap29013.png
The menus are very basic and uninteresting, it doesn't even animate into the different items on the menu like you'd expect it to. Doesn't really bother me though.
Looking at some of those pictures reminds me of how glad I am to have the PPK back.
Sorry it took so long.

Ah, OK, thanks. Still trying to decide which one to buy today. I'll probably go with the single disc for now, then get the special edition whenever it comes out later. So, is the two-disc version like the special edition of "Casino Royale"?Oh man, I can't wait to stop by Target tomorrow morning on my way to work to pick up the special edition 2-disc version, which I believe includes a book?

Has anybody verified if the cover art of Craig with the assault rifle on the 2-disk is only on the cardboard sleeve?
No, the same image is on both. Shame, really, I was hoping for the international image on the inside.

The book from Target is called "James Bond Vehicles" and is rather small.
Yeah, a bit. I was kind of hoping it'd be a special package like Target did for the original Casino Royale release.

Did anyone notice a dip in sound over the title sequence on the DVD...? Or was it just me?
I hadn't noticed anything like that, but I'll be sure to pay extra attention to it next time I watch QUANTUM, which I'm sure won't be too far away.

Really? Awesome!Used a store credit to get the regular two-disc DVD at Amoeba Records in Hollywood. As the cashier was ringing it up, he nodded to Craig on the cover and said, "He's been in here a few times."
Hey, maybe next time, you can catch him...

He probably hasn't you know. He just wants more customers.

Was at Best Buy today when they opened. Bought QoS on BluRay AND DVDs (1 & 2 disc), and the two collector sets. We're watching a CR/QoS double feature. I'd watch all tonight except for those Vesper martinis make it tough to stay up late!
I can understand getting the Blu-Ray and maybe one a version on DVD, but you bought the Blu-Ray and both DVD editions?

Which is strange since Forster has said he has recorded a commentary.
Thanks, Darren. Think I've outgrown CBn now. Only signed in today to answer a PM, and will not be posting anymore. CBn used to be great fun, but now there's too much negativity (and this is from the QoS supporters).Who's rattled your cage? Your kind of post has kept me away from here for weeks.
Oh, bring on the haters to spray their hate. Can't have any thread about QoS without them showing up.
"The movie sucked... but I'll buy the DVD anyway... and the Blu-Ray... and the double-dipped Deluxe 3-Disc Edition whenever that comes around."
Which is sad given that your humorous posts Bondian are one of the few reasons I visit CBn.
See you around, my friend.
All the best.
Cheers,
Ian
Sorry to hear that Ian, but I do see your point. CBn is not the same happy-go-lucky place it was when I joined seven years ago. Much to negative and quite frankly dull.

Forster did say he recorded a commentary but it was for the 2nd QoS DVD which will probably come out just before Bond 23 and I have to agree with Bondian about their being a lot of negativity on the boards especially since Quantum of Solace and I remember it being very positive with the lead up to CR and when CR came out.
By the way DLibrasnow, have you purchased the NSNA Collector's Edition Blu-ray yet because I was wondering what the quality of the movie, when it comes to video and audio, is because the previous DVD was alright when it comes to video and audio and was due for a remaster.

I agree that CBn has become a far more negative place, but I don't see this as a CBn issue. Forums across the net have devolved. I do think we've had a generational shift. Forums and chat rooms have now been around for 10 years and there is a generation who has grown up in the environment and have, unfortunately, adopted a very rude and brutish way of communicating online. You can't blame them, as blogs and AICN-type talkbackers have been their role models. Accentuate the negative and throw out the one-line snark. Forums are awash with this. Most of this is just plain lazy because it's always easier to criticize than analyze. I haven't see older members turn rude or negative -- but I have noticed a new wave of members who have come in with this type of "you can be as rude as you want" style. It's too bad, but it's what happens in any mass media. The easy, lazy, and mindless eventually dominates. This debut Quantum of Solace DVD (even the two-disc edition) is relatively light on special features, just like the original Casino Royale DVD release.

I should say that I think CBn has been remarkably resistant to this net-wide devolution. I do think that's because we have a great group of core members and Team members who maintain a high tone. CBn is a very smart Bond forum, and the worst of the one-line snarkers tend to not last very long. The hit-and-runners can't survive without first having substance to attack. Evil depends on good, but not the other way around. Good will prevail, Zen. Have faith.

I've had the Blu-ray release of Never Say Never Again for sometime now and am generally pleased with the results.
It has not been cleaned up as much as the EON movies have for their BD release, but the Blu-ray is still the best the movie has ever looked in the home video medium. Leagues better than any of the VHS releases and leaps and bounds ahead of the DVD release. There is some print dirt in places and some scratches but overall it's pleasure to view.
The real plus comes in the audio which is simply amazing.
As I stated in my review on Amazon: "One area where this release scores top marks is in the audio department, this is largely thanks to an impressive 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio encoding combined with some extensive audio remixing. Dialogue is situated squarely in the center chaannel with a number of rear directional effects in the action sequences."
All in all you will be pleased.

I watched the NSNA Blu-Ray last night (with commentary on). Very enjoyable, some nice insights. I'm glad Stephen J Rubin was there to keep Irvin Kersher from wandering to much. Kersh was starting to narrate the action, which is something directors sometimes do on commentaries. Rubin kept bringing him back to behind the scenes discussion, which was good.

I agree. It is an impressive release and I am so glad that we got a Kershner commentary for the movie. So often now with older movies we are getting commentaries from the oddest of people (usually anyone still surviving that the producers can wheel in) like the second unit directors barber/errand boy etc etc.
