I thought Bond and Q were always annoyed with one another. How come Q has suddenly come to aid Bond in a personal revenge mission?

Not at all. Q is exasperated about what happens to his equipment but he has the up-most respect for Bond. Look at the way he congratulates him on his wedding in OHMSS. And there is a lot of respect in TWINE too (it'a almost grandfatherly).

It was out of character for Q. They have a respect for each other but Q was strictly a "by the book" type. He wouldn't help Bond or any rogue agent on a personal vendetta. Also the convenience of his appearance was just plain ridiculous. That same night Bond realizes he could never penetrate the bullet proof glass in Sanchez's office Q shows up with plastic explosive. :(

Was it worth the extra bucks? I'm pondering whether I should "double dip" on CR or not.

Thunderball. Connery at his coolest. Great lines and great delivery, too - "Oh, you’re mad" - ”Yes, isn’t everyone?"

Rewatched Casino Royale over the weekend. Just in preparation for QOS.
Its still great, 2 years sure do go fast. :(
Still hugely enjoy the Parkour sequence, and the dark PTS. I even like some of the humour like the parking of the loud snobbish guest's Car at the Ocean club, and Mr Mendel. I still think Le Chiffre is a great villain in a creepy way, and I still love Eva as Vesper.

I thought so, however, I got it on sale. I felt the documentary James Bond in The Bahamas, made it worth the price just to see exact camera angles from some of those locations in 2008. Quite interesting. As for the film, the dvd (I have yet to blue-ray-ulate), does IMO look a bit better than the other region 1 release.

BTW, the last film I watched was NSNA- just replaced my deceased copy- enjoyed it immensely and feel the need to buy a pair of blue denim over-alls. Maybe I'll go jogging in a pair of loafers and black socks.....I made that joke before, didn't I?

Fiona Volpe:"Some men just don't like to be driven."
Bond: "No, some men just don't like to be taken for a ride." :D :) ;)

Just finally got round to buying the DVD boxset and am watching in chronological order - next stop Goldfinger (although it may have to be Casino Royale in preparation for QoS).
