The Man with the Golden Gun

Great movie, with a lot of classic scenes, brilliant villians, a very underrated Bond girl and possibly Roger Moore's best peformance in the role.

A truly underrated entry.

I haven't watched a Bond film in a few months. I kind of need to take a break every once in a while with other movies(I'm an active member on a film message board). However, I think the last one I watched was QOS.

I actually finished watching Quantum of Solace with my younger brother, and the complaints that he had were the same that I did.

I watched The Man with the Golden Gun last night. A very underrated movie. Christoper Lee is brilliant. Easily one of the best Bond villains. Herve Villiches is FANTASTIC. A truly awesome henchman, actually, I have a feeling he might be my favorite. I find Sheriff Papper less annoying than I had before, in fact, I admit to a few cheap laughs I had in his presence.

It's definately moved up a good few places on my rankings.

Did a double feature of Thunderball and Moonraker last night.. Thunderball has jumped into my #1 favorite Connery film, but Moonraker has slipped down to my #4 favorite Moore film..

It actually keeps moving down on my list. Those last 20 minutes during which the plot just has to deal with some stupid sun laser irritates me more and more every time. I don't think the 'funny' bits in this one are all that funny either.

Just watched You Only Live Twice again today.
I still hate it. I don't hate it AS much as I hate Diamonds Are Forever, but it's certainly not in my top ten...

Casino Royale, a couple of days ago at the BFI. I haven't seen it for awhile and was reminded of what a superb Bond film it is.

I just watched DIE ANOTHER DAY. I basically enjoyed it, aside from some of the sequences in Greenland. And I'm beginning to think that the Miranda Frost character is not very bright.

Die Another Day
Currently it stands as my favourite Brosnan, although it would be much better if it had ended with Bond saving Jinx from the melting ice palace, with a caption put up saying that Graves and Frost had died in a car accident or something to tie up loose ends. An enjoyable romp though, I wouldn't want to end my post on a negative note. I had fun.

The Living Daylights, a couple of nights ago. I just felt like I hadn't watched a Dalton flick in ages.

Edit: And now Dr. No.

I watched Doctor No the other night. The reason why I chose it is because I have dusted off some of my Bond novels and am about half way though the book version of Doctor No.

It is intersting to see what they kept and what they changed for the movie. For example, Honey in both versions, was reading an encylopedia from start to finish, and yet her backgrounds a very different (e.g, in the book she had never left Jamica while in the movie, she had been a world travelorwith her father.

I am also finding it interesting to see how much of the "Bond formula", such as the over-the-top villian and his lair, plus the victim, was already present in the first movie and also the book.

I am also introducing a new generation to Bond as my daughter watched it with me. This is her second 007, YOLT was her first.

I watched Diamonds Are Forever this afternoon, and it really wasn't as enjoyable as the last time I watched it.

I found it quite a drag, tbh.

I watched A View to a Kill last night and B) liked it quite a lot. In the past I always thought the movie was merely okay through the French scenes and then went downhill when the setting moved to San Francisco. Last night I kept waiting for the cheesiness to take over and it never did. Granted, it's hardly Bond's or Moore's best, but it has beautiful cinematography, a great score, a realistic plot and a great villain.

The movie I watched before that was The Spy Who Loved Me, and I have to admit that I found the fantasy elements (and Barbara Bach's stilted performance) somewhat hard to swallow. AVTAK may have passed TSWLM on my Bond list, and that's quite an accomplishment!

I like TSWLM a lot, but I never really cared for the villain's plot. Barbara Bach seemed to be at her best when she used her expressions - silently.

After a stressful exam this morning on Medieval History, I decided to sit back and relax to the joyous wonder that is Dr. No. Such a brilliant movie. Connery is at his best here.

I watched a good portion of Casino Royale with the audio commentary on. I've had the Deluxe Blu-Ray since it came out, but I've never ever listened to the commentary.

I'm reliving Quantum of Solace, on Blu Ray at the moment. I must say, the brilliant transfer really does make you respect the film a lot more!

It does. I liked the film greatly beforehand, but the stunning image and sound quality make it all the better.
