The impression I get is that this song is very much Jack White's baby. Therefore, it could be more like "Jack White featuring Alicia Keys" rather than a full blown duet. We shall see.

He does team up with other artists all the time: this would be just the sort of thing he'd do. And it's great from Eon's point of view too- pop and rock in the same song; double the audience. It's a canny decision.

Just wish I could think of anything she's done.

http://www.pitchfork...ames-bond-theme

Following in the illustrious footsteps of Chris Cornell, Garbage, Sheryl Crow, a-ha, Tom Jones, and so on, chart-topper Alicia Keys and Jack White of White Stripes and Raconteurs fame will perform the theme song to upcoming James Bond flick Quantum of Solace, according to a Billboard.com report (as yet not confirmed by representatives of either artist).

Keys and White will duet on "Another Way to Die", which White penned and will produce and play drums upon. The tune-- the first duet in the history of James Bond movie theme songs, for what that's worth, and the fourth to date to include the word "Die"-- will feature on the film's soundtrack, due October 28, and the film itself, due November 7.

Perhaps this is what Alicia was hinting at when she ran on to Rock & Roll Daily back in May, saying, "I think that combining [the White Stripes' raw] style with mine, which already has a raw feel to it, and my voice, I just think we could do something really interesting that mixes rock and soul together, the blues and emotion, and it could be really touching." Surely not more touching than "Die Another Day"!?

White's Raconteurs hit the road again next month, and they want your help. The boys recently launched a new live section of their website where they're seeking submissions for live video, images, and the like. Because you're not really having a good time at a concert unless you're logging the entire experience on amateur equipment for the enjoyment of others.

I definately like the sound of this

Nice! I'm looking forward to this far more than I was Cornell. The only thing I'm not pumped about is the title.

I don't think there's any doubt, is there?

I'm with the group that thinks the title sounds like a generic 1990's Bond film title.

The release even says:

Wilson and Broccoli said: "We are delighted and pleased to have two such exciting artists as Jack and Alicia, who were inspired by our film to join together their extraordinary talents in creating a unique sound for Quantum of Solace."

Its great to finally have confirmation of the title track artists.. and as when Chris Cornell was announced for Casino Royale and You Know My Name, I am very curious to see what "Another Way To Die" is gonna sound like. Sure its a questionable title, thank god the film isn't called "Another Way to Die"!!, but in context of the movie it just might work. White and Keys (sounds like a law firm or something.. ) will be an interesting combination.

And we can FINALLY put those annoying Amy Winehouse rumors to bed once and for all!!

Didn't a CBn member suggest that title for Bond 22 just after Casino Royale was released?
I seem to remember someone suggesting that.

OK, sure, fine. Not much else to say really, this choice neither thrills nor upsets me. Duet? Yeah, why not. Now, when's the second trailer out?

The only thing I'm disappointed about is that it probably won't be included in the score like YKMN.

My gut reaction is this sounds pretty crap to me. I hate the title of the song, it sounds like something from the Brosnan era, and I hate the fact that Arnold is not involved with the song at all. The collaboration sounds like U2 and Tina Turner's GE - which I absolutely hated!!!!!!

EON, what the hell are you doing? My fears were roused when I saw Craig flying the plane in the QOS trailer, and now this!! Did they not learn anything with what they did during the Brozza era, and with what they have now so miraculously done with CR?

Right now my optimism for this film is waning, especially in light of a truly great film like TDK. Nolan managed to pull off the impossible by making his sequel even better, but I'm beginning to think Babs and Co. only had one great film within them.

Not a huge fan of the title, but so long as it maintains the edge that YKMN had, I'm sure I'll be ok with it.

Quite right.

Otherwise, this sounds like a good, solid choice. Nothing particularly exciting (then again, maybe when I've heard the song, I'll change my mind). It is nice to have a "first ever" duet, which brings some novelty.

As far as the title, "Another Way to Die," it sounds like the lyrics will be typical Bond material. But that's all well and good... Bond songs have never been known for their lyrical qualities.

So to summarize then, a song you haven't heard sounds like another song you didn't like, and the Batman sequel was good, therefore the latest Bond movie won't be. All makes sense to me.

Not necessarily.. Chris Cornell made his own decision to NOT have YKMN included on the soundtrack CD.. So I think Another Way To Die will be on the QoS soundtrack.

I'm not talking about it being in the soundtrack, but in the musical score like YKMN was in CR.

I wish Arnold had written it so that it could be used throughout the score. Once again, like Die Another Day and Crow's Tomorrow Never Dies, he gets the shaft. To bad they could not have used the movie title as the actual song title. Makes me wonder if from now on, EON will always be using title songs that aren't the same as the title of the movie. God I hope not!

Did you actually read what I put, or are you just trying to put your own clever spin on it?

I have fears that QOS will slip back to the crappy Brozza era, and with a song not involving Arnold, a title that sounds like it has jumped straight out of the Brozza era, and yes, a superb Batman sequel which QOS will have to live up to, I do have doubts about the film.

Or is this not allowed in your little world...?

If Barry managed to put FRWL in his soundtrack to that movie, I hope Arnold will manage to use this song in his. Just the fact that he hasn't written it shouldn't stop him, I just hope they chose it early enough for him to write it in.
