JAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG is obsessed with keeping fit, but insists he will stop soon so that he can get "fat and old".
The actor - who appeared in his first Bond film, Casino Royale, clad only in tight swimming trunks - is happy with his lean figure, and eats three meals a day.
But the star confesses that he will soon give up his fitness regime - because he is getting too old to keep it up.
He tells Britain's GQ magazine, "You have to be psychologically happy to do a movie like this and I genuinely don't diet.
"I eat a full breakfast, full lunch, full dinner and once or twice a week I might even drink Guinness and red wine and all that stuff. Otherwise you go insane. You get into a stupid place. I'm obsessive enough about getting fit, it's ridiculous.
"I'm 40 now and I've got to stop doing it soon. I have to start getting fat and old."

This is why, enough though I like Craig as Bond, I don't want him to stay past 5 films maximum; he's a very physical Bond and he won't be able to keep it up. I mean, for a 40-year-old to look like him is pretty amazing already. Just ask my dad.

I think Craig was joking around a bit. You can be 70 and still be fit and in shape (look at Harrison Ford at 65).

40 is still plenty young. I'm 40 and I am in better shape than I was at 25. One can be in just as good of shape at 50.
