Phew, so many rumours about this title performer. I can't wait until an end is brought to all of this, and we get our answer! For what it's worth, I've always liked Alicia Keys, but I'm not sure this is exactly what the movie needs.

I know who it'll will really, really be: Rush

Okay, they're my favorite band, but not quite a Bondian sound.

I wouldn't mind Keys; she could provide a nice, soulful theme with the proper arrangement.

I always think of her first big hit, which was pretty good.

Just watched a couple of her videos. She's boring. I hope it's not her

She'd be a great choice... uber-talented, great songwriter, pretty good voice. She'd bring something fresh to the series that will still be true to the tradition of the title songs.

Also on Columbia Records, a Sony BMG label.

I really think she's the one.

I agree with that comment. She would be a fairly safe choice but I'd be interested to hear something that was written by her and David Arnold.

Please NO.
What a safe, vanilla flavored choice, I can only hope that this is another rumor that's going nowhere.

Always liked the remixed version of her Karmastition.

I thought they would go with an artist with an edge. Would they really go with an artist as dull as Keys?

Couldn't agree more.
DC's Bond is interesting because it has an edge, which makes you sit up and get involved with the character instead of reaching for the comfy slippers and cocoa, and just letting the film wash over you. Using Keys would be the beginning of the slide to comfy, safe Bond.

Please, anybody BUT Alicia Keys, my God. What we DON'T need is an R&B performer, just like someone said with the Yung Jeezy Mah Wheezy rumours (and btw, you can tell I despise rap music in terms of James Bond ).

To paraphrase the original article and put my own stamp on it, I say 'I believe Alicia is the loser'...as far as Bond is concerned anyhow.

Her song, "Go Ahead" from the movie "Smoking Aces" sounds a little Bondish... Just needs the orchestra...

Oh god, you must really hate her then....

I think she's got a great voice. Wouldn't have been my first choice, but actually I don't care that much about the performer. I think it's far more crucial that it will be a decent song.

Great choice. A wonderful soulful voice. Returns to the tradition of the Shirley Bassey like songs. Please no "edgy" performers who can´t sing or do a decent tune.

Well said, although I have to confess that I secretly would have hoped for something a little bit out of the ordinary, like Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Morcheeba or Portishead. But when looking at my last dreams come true (Garbage, Sheryl Crow, Madonna) and what was their outcome, it's probably better if my wishes are not granted...

She's signed to Sony BMG. I think with the amount of product placement in the last movie it's obvious who the next singer is likely to be.

Exactly what I was thinking - something like Fallin' would be very suitable to the feel of QoS. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Alicia Keys has a good voice, but I've never really cared for anything she's done. This might still be alright, were she to have actually won it.

Garbage were 'edgy'(compared to Tina Turner and Sheryl Crow) yet they contributed a song for Brosnan's tenure as Bond and he was anything but edgy. We're far past the point where a song for a movie and the credibility of the singer (perceived or lack of) is an integral part of a movie's edginess (a word bandied around too many times).

There've been good Bond songs for entries most people don't generally rate as the best in the series (AVTAK being the most notable example and personally I like the YOLT song better than the actual picture as it gives the idea of a deeper film than the one we have). Ultimatley it's down to opinion as there are people who still don't rate YKMN as one of the best or 'radical' Bond songs (DAD is more innovative and it's complete dog[censored] IMO).
