Good facial likeness, although oddly he looks a bit slight in the body!

It seems they have the look of CR down pat! Let's hope for a really good & challenging game.

he game, according to the preview, contains levels and sets from both Casino Royale and the Quantum of Solace films, although only CR levels were shown.

GM says that the core FPS gameplay is broken up with third-person elements, supposedly to remind you that you're "being" Bond, which sounds like an idea straight from the 'brand' department.

The mag compares the game's cover system to that of GTA IV, where the camera walking along ledges and such, as well as for "God of War-style" quick-time events that let you pull off takedowns to dispense enemies quickly and quietly.

One quick-time event has you play through that fantastic chase at the start of Casino Royale, although GM notes that free running ninja Sebastien Foucan's likeness won't be in the game.

Speaking of the AI, GM observes that enemies use flank tactics and communicate with each other.

I'm not to happy with the idea of the game being both FPS and TPS, I would rather have it all in third person. FPS's and TPS's tend not to do well when combined.

For a batch of next-gen screenshots, I'm not that impressed, graphically (which is something the Bond games have always had going for them). I'll be anxious to see the mainstream VG sites start picking up on this and releasing some of their own media. Fingers crossed these are just early-version worries.

Where are you getting this from? Rainbow Six: Vegas is pretty fantastic and it's exactly what they're describing here. Guy I know has a long gameplay video of Vegas here: http://mattplays.com...ow-six-vegas-2/

This is pretty much the style of game I was hoping for.

More like teeny tiny crappy scans that you really shouldn't judge the game (graphically) based on. I mean I wouldn't. I'd at least wait for better scans. Graphics aren't everything anyway so long as it plays great.

I was excited when I saw these screen shots. But I also have to agree, that on this stage and judged by those pictures, I'm not fully bought by the graphics. To my eyes, and I know it must be because of the quality of the scans and the fact that Quantum of Solace - the Game, is still in the making, like updated EON graphics. It may also be the case with the finished product. One can't really know at this stage. Though I have my suspicions, since the game uses Call of Duty 4 engine, that this won't be the case.

Nevertheless, from these pictures I got the same feeling that I got from playing the Bourne Conspiracy demo. Not impressed with graphics, but still getting the good vibe.

Yet, you cant really compare those two at this stage, when one has been released, and the other is still at developing stage, with only scans released.

Switching between FPS and TPS is fantastic IMO, if it is done well (because there are advantages to both).

Yes it would, but i'm under the impression that the game only turns to third person for selected parts of the game and remains in first person for its entirety.

Isn't that because there's going to be another Bond game that's going to be pure driving?

Anyway, I couldn't care less about the driving levels. It always feels a bit tacked-on when they put driving into action/shooter games, e.g. I just played the Bourne conspiracy demo and the fighting/shooting was pretty good, but the driving felt like a totally different, weaker game.

IMHO the most disturbing thing here is that the parkour chase is apparently a "quick time event". Does this mean you just tap buttons when prompted on the screen and the game does the rest for you? Lame! This is the part of the game people are going to be most interested in playing, isn't it?

Yeah. It should be in 3rd person. Though I wouldn't mind occasional quick-time event in that level. Bourne did it pretty well, without taking too much of the control away from player.

The driving bit would be tacked on. It'd probably be a lot of work to add in driving elements. Not to say it couldn't be done, but it probably wouldn't be as good as the rest of the game. Everything or Nothing actually used the Need For Speed engine to pull off its driving stuff and in From Russia with Love it was pretty much tacked on and not so good IMO (FRWL used a completely different engine from EoN despite the similarities). The Bourne game has driving levels and even if you like the rest of the game (which I didn't), you have to acknowledge the driving level as incredibly piss-poor. It looked terrible.

I'm not a fan of "quick time events" either. It's one thing to have one here and there like Resident Evil 4, which worked them in great, but when you have entire sequences of them like the Bourne game, it's just not a whole lot of fun. I didn't feel like I was playing that game at all. It was more like watching a movie and barely interacting.

I thought about the scan quality affecting the graphics after I said it - sorry:). That being said, I've made a habit of not judging games until after I see gameplay videos, after being disappointed by some in the fast (TWINE 64 comes to mind, I was severely disappointed by it).

That being said, this could still end up being the title that makes me fork out the $$ for a new Xbox.

Very cool screenshots. The likeness of Daniel Craig looks very good. Obviously the graphics don't look too impressive at this stage, but I'm sure that will change. I like the news that it will be a combination of first-person and third-person. A level like the Madagascar chase will work much better that way.

These screenshots have gotten me very excited. It's great to be having a new Bond game again. Not to mention one based on two Bond movies, to make up for the cancelled Casino Royale game. This will be great.

The screen shots look good. I'm fine with skipping the driving levels - especially when you have timed missions to complete. If I want a driving game, there are plenty of options out there that I could "scratch that itch" with.

That sounds dismal if it is the case.
