Not a bad plot. Amusing that they turned Kurylenko's character into a half Ukrainian to fit her nationality.

This sounds like it came from the press conference... so no title?

Just noticed that the article referred to Maurice Green again, rather than Dominic Greene. A mistake no doubt. Also a first mention of Chile as a shooting location.

Not bad. Sounds a bit DOGS OF WAR. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Bond will try to infiltrate the coup plot by posing as a mercenary.

Also a mention of plot here:

Camille and Bond are both out for revenge, apparently.

Some more character details, especially in regards to Camille. Note how she mentions training for aerial stunts.

I don't know this about this "training for aerial stunts" stuff. I don't want another one of these Bond Girls who are Bond's equal. sigh.

sounds interesting. I'm just hoping that Maurice Green won't be one of those megalomanics ala Elliot Carver.

Camille sounds like what Jinx should have been. The plot sounds interesting - but really could have been fabricated based on the knowledge we've already had.

Still, sounds exciting.

From IGN:

As well as the title, we also heard some more about the plot. Apparently it will pick up from when Casino Royale left off, and begin with Bond and M interrogating suspects who reveal the shadowy organization who blackmailed Vesper.

An MI6 traitor leads Bond to Haiti, where he meets Bond girls Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurylenko, who introduce him to ruthless business man, and the villain of the piece, Maurice Green (played by The Diving Bell And The Butterfly star Mathieu Amalric.)

Bond's mission takes him across Austria, Italy and into South America, where he uncovers Green's plan's to take control of one of the world's major natural resources.

More from DC:-

Daniel Craig has just spoken at the press conference to promote the 22nd Bond film Quantum of Solace. When quizzed about the somewhat bewildering name, he said "We could have gone for a snappier title but that's not part of the deal...It ties into the plot, it's not some random title".

He says that it all connects to Bond's search for closure on his relationship with Vesper. We'd take that to indicate that the meaning of Quantum of Solace is 'a degree of comfort' (quantum can mean several things, annoyingly), as in he's looking for some scrap of comfort after the last film by finding out more about the woman he loved. Craig described it as having an element of revenge.

Craig said that this film will be "more of a classical Bond movie. There's a touch of Ken Adam (the Bond production designer famed for giant villain lairs) and '60s spy movie". We doubt that means going to Roger Moore territory, but maybe this is easing in to a version of the Bond style we know, but with Casino Royale's more realistic edge. He also added that Bond will be "misbehaving more this time" and that we won't see anything like the torture scene from Casino Royale, because "Bond's deaing it out more this time".

Producer Michael G Wilson also expanded on the continued absence of Moneypenny and Q. He said, and we're very slightly paraphrasing here, that in the previous films they'd had to find a moment for each of the characters, which wasn't necessarily organic. He said they may come back in the future, but only if the story demands it.

Co-Producer Barbara Broccoli said that there was a definite possibility of Craig appearing in more Bond movies, but that they were "taking it one at a time".

Those are some very interesting snippets. No Monepenny or Q and Craig isn't necessarily tied to doing another one...

This is what intrigues me. A touch of Ken Adam? Of course that's a subjective statement, but when's the last time you think the producers or actors invoked a Ken Adam influence when describing the look of a new Bond film? "60's spy movie" can't be a bad sign either.

And "Bond's dealing it out more this time". Nice. Yeah, baby.

The "touch of Ken Adam" sounds good. Sixties spy movie too .

Gemma told the BBC that her character comes to a sticky end.

Fully deserved for her crimes against hair, from the pictures I've seen so far.

Perhaps in a final grueling battle to find style she drowns in her own hair gel?

I like the news so far. I'm pretty sure QOS will be in the same style as CR, but thougher, after all he's pissed and maybe M yells a few times at him because in her eyes he's still a blunt instrument. And I don't expect QOS to be a DAF-style Bond, if you know what I mean!

More action... I think the "twice as much"-bit is exaggerated.

Two questions: Is there going to be a traditional gunbarrel & what elements of the QOS story from Fleming will be used?

I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere, but I find it quite fun that Dench revealed we'll get to see or at least hear M's husband again.

I don't know the last time I was this enthusiatic about a new Bond film. I must really try to not let my expectations get too high...
