Just searching around the net, and looks like it may be worth checking out the movie FAY GRIM, which is an action thriller starring Taubman. One review says that "magnetic Anatole Taubman is a fanatical jihadist of remarkably human sympathy". Seems like he is certainly capable of representing someone of Middle Eastern descent, and a very credible actor in addition. While I can't see him necessarily as the boyfriend, as he has described himself as a henchman rather than a villain, I'll speculate that we may have some form of Algerian cell to contend with...

If Amalric is the top guy in Mr. White's organization, Taubmann could have a huge part.

Whether he's a henchman or a "right-hand man" makes a huge difference.

I'm hoping he sticks around for quite a while in Bond 22.

While none of Casino Royale's villains were real letdowns to me, it did seem at times that it was a case of kill this one--move onto the next one and so on. I mean, we had Mollaka, Le Chiffre, Valenka, Kratt, Steven Obanno, Obanno's henchman, Alex Dimitrios, Gettler and others...

Makes one wonder exactly how many will be in this one.

And he's a football (soccer) fan, judging by his Champions League comment! :D

Do we know that Amalric's character is definitely the head of the organisation? Maybe Bond won't reach the big boss until Bond 23?

As far as I know it's never been mentioned that Amalric is the "new Blofeld" (in a figurative sense), just that he's the primary villian of Bond 22. I'd much rather him be more of a Rosa Klebb/Kronsteen-type, and maybe just hint at the organization's real leader.

And PLEASE, let's not make Vesper's boyfriend a villian, alright? :D

He will do nicely. He seems to have a fairly large role in the film which is great.

Too obvious. I say call him ‘Mr. Brown’.

Well, I can think of one person who has said just that.

He is indeed. It's even given as "special skill" (with fencing and stage combat) in his CV. :D:tup:

Can't say I'm familiar with Taubmann, but it looks the casting of villains is going well.

Loving the slow leaks of news coming from the Bond camp. What will we get next, the name of the Bond girl or the title of the movie?

23 days and counting until they start shooting. I'm expecting to see some on-set photos online by the 6th/7th January. :D

I really like the idea of him becoming a darker version of Jaws, more menacing than Kiel in The Spy Who Loved Me. Following Bond around and trying to kill him. I'm thinking a really really darker Jaws, without the teeth and the menace of Robert Shaw in From Russia With Love.

From that suggestion, I do like the idea of Bond being chased around for once. Henchmen moving from country to country trying to eliminate him. That would be quite cool.

Another german interview appeared online.

=> http://www.blick.ch/...interview-78419

The most interesting bit? He will play a French!
His chances for beeing Vesper's lover are rising... and rising...
Further, he said that he will have a "big scene" with a Bondgirl.

btw: How could I edit the title? His name is actually Taubman not Taubmann.

Having read that interview and a few other details from it, I am becoming increasingly convinced that he will be the boyfriend. Taubman also mentions that he will have a decent amount of both dialogue and action scenes, but no love scenes.

Yes, as he seeks out various members of the The Organisation, the Organisation has someone following Bond's every move.
