Now on the CBn main page...

Swiss actor confirms role in upcoming 007 film

Swiss actor to play second big villain besides Mathieu Amalric

Never heared of him? That will change.
http://imdb.com/name/nm0851458/

He was personally in the tv show "glanz & gloria" from the Swiss television and confirmed that he signed the contract the last Thursday. But he said that he had the OK from the studio (Sony) since 3 weeks, while the screen test was 1 month ago. There, he had to tell a little about himself and playing afterwards a scene twice in front of eight persons.

Link (I hope the broadcast will be up for looking soon): http://www.sf.tv/sf1...?docid=20071211

Very, VERY Nice Find #11 :D He reminds me of Jaws for some strange reason, he does look pretty menacing, I shall look forward to seeing him in action.

Good find :D The resemblance to Tarantino is uncanny! He does look suitably sinister though.

Cool! Maybe his death scene will involve Bond smashing his head in with a rock before drowning him in a tub full of burning acid. :D

Since I have your attention here MHark... I have a question I've been dying to ask you. (And in fact, did ask you... but I don't think you ever saw it.) What did you think Blofeld meant in FYEO when he promised Bond a set of "American Dentures, Inflated Steel"?

I'm dying to know what kind of imagery your brain produced. I know I've enjoyed coming up with my own for the past few weeks.

I dunno lol, I just have an image of Rogers Bond sitting on an inflated chair made out of steel, wearing Jaws teeth and smiling with his hands stretched out :D.

I always thought that BLOFELD in FOR YOUR EYES ONLY says "I'll buy you a delicatessan....in stainless steel..."...

??

Someone help me out here. If he said "American dentures...in stainless steel" then surely that is a nod to JAWS that I for one have not noticed before. Either way he's acting like a big girl....

That'd be a reference to another thread, in which Mharkin007 tells of how he misheard Blofeld's infamous plea for mercy as a product placement for Jaws' inflatable teeth. :D

No, no, Zorin. You've got it wrong. "INFLATED steel". Not "in stainless steel". And I'm outta here before the CBn police get me on thread derailing charges...

To try and get the thread back on track, another story talking of Anatole Taubman in BOND 22 can be found here - I'll try and figure out a translation of the most important parts.

Edit: This is my attempted translation, although I'm sure a German speaker is more than likely to correct me :D

Swiss actor Anatole Taubman has landed a genuine dream role. In the next James Bond film the 36-year old will play one of the villains, as he confirmed on the “Glanz and Gloria” show on Swiss television.

The role alongside "main villain" Mathieu Amalric (42) as opponents of Daniel Craig (39), alias James Bond, is for Taubman "the Champions League", as he said. He is already in contact with director Marc Forster (38) and will meet Craig next week.

However, Taubman was not allowed to explain more about his dream role as a Bond villain in the show. "I had to give a discrete explanation." Nonetheless it was revealed that a personal fitness trainer has been placed at his side. Bond fans may therefore hope for some action scenes.

Another story here. Still not much new information but suggests that shooting for BOND 22 will commence in Bregenz in January. Also, Taubman seems to be shooting scenes in South America for his part in the movie.

“For a European, a role in a James Bond movie is like a golden ticket”, a pleased Anatole Taubman told host Nicole Berchtold. “There is nothing better, I am overjoyed.” Production for the new Bond film is due to start in January 2008 in Bregenz, Austria.

"I want my family to ride alongside me on this wave of Bond all the same, whether I am staying in my penthouse suite in London or in South America,” says Taubman. Contractually everything is regulated: “I may fly my family to all parts of the world First Class”.

Good job on the translations, Vauxhall. Saves me some time :D

Never heard of him or knowingly saw him in anything even though he has a number of credits in various German TV series. Hope he does it well.

Yes that's what I thought. Not a Jaws or Oddjob type, probably more in line with "Carlos" from Casino Royale.

Probably his most notable Hollywood credits are that he was in the "Band of Brothers" miniseries and "Aeon Flux" in bit parts.

He's also appearing in "Speed Racer", according to his agency
http://www.charade-a...ubman/index.htm. They also have a 20 minute video demo reel at that link.

Wow, some very interesting pics there, Fro. Dare I speculate that HE will be playing Vesper's French-Algerian boyfriend? He looks sort of ethnically ambiguous, with more of an 'Algerian' look than Mathieu Almaric, anyway.

I thought the same. Either Gobinda or one of his spiky-yoyo toting mates!

Interesting choice of actor and again a relative unknown. Also he seems he can do the suitably slimy face needed for some Bond villains...
