If the DVD is released here in Buenos Aires I'll buy it... it is a nice piece of adition to anybody's collection. Hope it's not very expensive here.

PS: Tonight I'm going to watch Goldfinger starring Roger Moore. :D

They still have the old November '07 release date so that might be related to this.

Amazon.com has no new date. Bestprices.com say Release: 06/03/2008. Also Turner Classic movies has the same date. MTV Shop say Expected Release Date: Jun 3, 2008. So lets hope...

Yep - 3 June 2008 seems to be the new date. Shame about such a delay.

So... technically its the 41st addition?

I'm really beginning to doubt that this will ever see the light of day!

I wonder if they got cold feet at the prospect of putting out two versions of CR on the same day? Remember, there's a lot of goofy people out there, some who don't even know what revoked means.

I'm rapidly losing any enthusiasm for this anyway, which is sad because I think I am one of the few on CBn who kind of enjoys CR '67. Just put it out already and be done with it.

Suppose that could be. If it's the case, I don't see why they didn't just move the release up (even a timeframe as small as a month perhaps) rather than delay it yet again.

...but then again the release schedules for Bond DVDs in the US rarely make any sense whatsoever.

This DVD release seems as troubled as the production of the movie itself.

Anybody want to bet this gets bumped again? Just release the thing already. It's not like there's a huge demand or anything.

They're still waiting to hear back from Niven on whether he'll do audio commentary or not.

Woody Allen should do a commentary and bitch about how awful it was making it and how much he hates the movie (has he even seen it?). That would be funnier than the movie itself!

Only Region 1 has been announced.

Thought I recall reading that he never watches his films again and when asked briefly about this one, he didn't have much good to say.

I'm actually waiting for this with great anticipation. We know the movie was a train wreck before, during and after production, but finding out the intricacies of the why, who, and how should be absolutely fascinating. Eon won't mind as it's not one of theirs.

Agreed. I imagine it would be a near impossible job to actually put together a documentary that does more than simply state: "The production was 100% chaos" - would be nice if something indepth was featured on this release.

It's a damn shame we don't get any deleted scenes. I guess there most been a whole bunch of them. (well, to be honest the whole movie is like a deleted scene. :( )

Both releases on the anniversary of Casino Royale TV-version (21st october 1954) ...isn't it right?

Yeah... the FIFTY-FOURTH anniversary to be exact - strange, isn't it? :-)

Sadly, though, MGM missed two major chances to give us the full, uncut TV movie on those DVD's.

Speaking of the Climax episode...

Once I was in Wal-Mart, and looking through those slim-cased budget DVDs they sometimes have.

To my surprise one of them was Casino Royale--the 1954 version.

I thought of buying it, but I wanted to see if it was any different from the one included on the '67 DVD first. But apparently nobody else has ever seen it (or if they did, they passed it up).

That might be a good alternate way to get the Climax episode, for people who opt for the 40th Ann. DVD of CR67.

Add this person to the list of hopefuls wanting a special edition of Never Say Never Again, mostly because the current DVD is so glitchy.
