That's great! The second half of season two kicks off in the States on January 22nd. I've been starting to see promos for it. Definitely a nice treat in the middle of winter.Whee! We finally got Burn Notice over here in the lowlands. Just watched the first episode, and enjoyed it very much. Very educative voice-over, too!
I'll be tuning in again next week.

I wouldn't mind them mixing it up a bit given how the season ended but they do need to tread carefully on the darker tone. I think they have a very good balance with the humor & action. Plus, Donovan makes this work perfectly with the voice overs he does. I can't see him doing an angry, non-sarcastic, voice over for episodes at a time.Word is, they're taking Michael in a slightly darker direction this season. Sounds as if he's a lit-tle ticked off at nearly being exploded to death. That could work for me, so long as we don't lose the humor altogether. You?

The darker tone is very much present, and it was a bit jarring to see Sam and Mike fight. Donovan is a solid actor and balances the intensity and humor well.

The fight between Mike and Sam was a surprise, but shows how deep their relationship runs. Looks like the Fiona/Mike storyline might heat up, but I thought I saw a spark of interest from Mike's new boss as well.
All in all I thought it was a good way to start the season!

Damn good.
I'm on the fence about Miss Carla, but Fi getting dumped hurt. Of course, it didn't stop her from her skill with a shotgun. That's why we love Fi...well that and how she looks in a bikini.
"Now it's a simple game of 'Who talks first'. Originally this was achieved by taking two men up in a helicopter and then throwing one out. However, if you don't easily have a helicopter available, a tall building will do."
More trade-craft gospel from Michael.
Love this show.
"Yeah...but I poison all my yoghurt in case you dropped by."

For Argentinean Burn Notice fans: The 1st season is being tranmsmitted in Telefe (Channel 11) on Sunday night (around 11 pm). It's under the title "Operación Miami" (Operation Miami)
The fight between Mike and Sam was a surprise
WTF?! Are they fighting? Why?

During the last episode they mentioned that there were only two more episodes left. Seems like it just started back-up again. Good news s the USA website lists that it will be back for Season 3 this summer with a full 16 episodes.
Very cool.

One of the things I love about BURN NOTICE is the progression of the story over the course of the first two seasons. The question of "Who burned Michael and why?" has been answered. Now the show is entering a new phase, "What is Michael going to do about it?"During the last episode they mentioned that there were only two more episodes left. Seems like it just started back-up again. Good news s the USA website lists that it will be back for Season 3 this summer with a full 16 episodes.
Very cool.Makes you wonder how much longer they can stretch this show.
BN is contracted for another two seasons. I'd be surprised if it ran much longer than five though. Surely by season five Jeffrey Donovan will be a household name and getting movie deals.

I loved how season 2 ended.
I thought it was kind of anticlimactic to be honest. Not saying it was bad. The first season had a similar-sort of ending and I thought it was cool, but this one was just .. okay.
That bank episode was the best episode of the entire series though. Just a great great episode.

I'm thrilled by the renewal. And I agree re Donovan--his slightly darker edge this season has shown more of his full potential. His presence is so strong that--as I've complained before--a number of the heavies end up talking just like him--same cadences, tone, etc. Go, Jeff.

Is this show supposed to be good? In a moment of curiosity, I tuned in for a 10-minute stretch. What I saw did not impress. Stylish production, but vapid content. Some pretty outrageous (silly) scenarios (or is that the idea?), and a car-flipping-stunt the likes of which I haven't seen since... well... let's just say that the producers should be looking over their shoulder for an angry-looking, mohawk-sporting, gold-chain-wearing beast of a man that does "pity the fool that would violate infringement rights".
Sorry you disliked it. But, imo, it pretends to be no more than what it is--and what it is works fine for me: light and clean, with bounce and verve...and a refreshing absence of "meaningful" social commentary.
