Theres not much in CR that I don't understand. There is a little thing that bugs me.

When M goes to the Bahamas to tell Bond about Solanges death and what Le Chiffres plan was with the Skyfleet prototype, she mentions the event of 9/11 and also 9/12. Was 9/12 just pure fiction or was there a terrorist event that happened

M just meant that the stocks hit bottom "the next day", because the NY stock market didn't open on 9/11 (as far as I remember it didn't open until 4-5 days later).

One thing that presents a small :cooltongue: to me is Bond hanging out of the passenger side door during the final sluggaroo of the tanker chance. What is he hanging on? Is his shoe caught in the tape deck? Did his belt get snagged on a corn chip that had rotted to the seat?

I kind of assumed it was Bond's gun, but upon further reflection it IS puzzling as to how he got it into the airport in the first place. The idea of Bond taking a guard's weapon makes sense. Does the bomber use his gun again during that scene? Maybe Bond was going for his and drops it.

I remember something clunking away. Could it be the bomber's gun? Does the bomber try to pull it on Bond during their Indiana Jones frontseat fight?

If not, then I guess I won't assume it's a gun at all for now. Could be a part of the car door or something. I will do some additional research soon; pause and zoom will be my beakers and testtubes.

Well, duh. This is one of those times when it helps to pay attention to the details. I just answered my own question by watching that scene on the DVD. It's quick, but Bond spots the bomber's gun and grabs it, then promptly gets shoved out the door, and the gun clatters away on the tarmac.

LOL, thanks! But it seems to me that if I really were on the ball, I'd have been observant enough to catch this before posting. Oh, well. I guess I wasn't the only one with that question, so it's good that I was at least able to answer it not only for myself, but others, as well.

For the first several viewings, I actually thought it was Bond's cellphone that fell out of his pocket. It was only fairly recently that I even caught on to the fact that it was a gun. :cooltongue:

It’s a little mysterious, too, how the baddie decides not to finish him off. Bond’s in a pretty compromised position to say the least and it wouldn’t take much effort to send him flying off at this point.

I think Carlos didn't see Bond hanging there. He kicked him out and didn't look precisely because he was busy with driving the car. So he thougt Bond was falling on the tarmac.
(Anyway, he wouldn't have had a gun for finishing his life quickly)

The thing is Bond is supposed to 'bring Le Chiffre in'. The method he is supposed to employ is to financially ruin him in a card game. But that doesn't mean Bond is not interested in what Le Chiffre does away from the card table. My thinking is that Bond was intent on keeping tabs on Le Chiffre so he could ensure he would be handed over to MI6.
