None Shall Regret - Discussion

It's quite the task, but based on my ToF (Touch of Fleming) bits I've done and posted and others I've written just for a few around here, I'm tempted to go for it.
I have been toying with the idea for a few months now and finally hit upon the title I want to work with.
So, my question is: What does everyone think? Would CBn'ers enjoy a John Bryce adventure as fan-fic?
I'm quite flattered that he will be turning up in the last installment of Fenna's Circle Trilogy and we have been steadily trading emails as to how he'll be represented, but it may be time for this old spy to finally let him fly solo.
So I put to the masses.
Is everyone ready for "None Shall Regret" - A John Bryce 003 Adventure ?
Thoughts please.

Here's the tease I just dug up out of an old file which does have an almost complete outline as I've now discovered.
Never quit. Never leave anything unsaid. Never drink blended Scotch. For John Bryce these were not just rules, but Law. Returning from active training with the SAS, he had received the postcard from Monte Carlo. Now she was dead. An occasional lover, a friend and woman he had never had the chance to tell what he felt in ten years. Facing 40, is it too late to recapture a love lost?
From the glistening shores of the south of France, the maze of London's Chinatown and streets of Madrid to a fantastic lair in the Pacific, looking into a former flames demise will send one of Her Majesty's finest Double-O agents through a path of guilt and a threat to the world.
Whether he lives or dies.
None Shall Regret.
Can't believe I found this and wrote it over three years ago.
To quote Dan in CR: "That was a rather good line."
Thanks ladies.

I'll read it - but if I think it's should I be honest and say so or tell you it was wonderful?
By all means santa, cut me off at the knees if need be or sing my praises from the rooftops.
That's all I can ask.

Clearly, at this point, it is not merely the ladies who are looking forward to reading None Shall Regret

Bryce, when it comes to Bond, you've gotta do it!
Thanks Brett and touche'....
Damn Cat.
I've been re-reading my ToF's and the traits will all be there. The jag, tailored clothes from Dunhill, the townhouse in Mayfair, the scotch, the ASP adapted Browning HP, the ladies, 004 (won't leave Joyce out of it either), the Muses, but M will be a man and referred to as "the Admiral", "No...Really", a few of CBn's more eclectic if not eccentric members will have their moment, an inside contact at MI5 (she knows who she is) and the travel based on personal real-life experiences. A touch of the exotic, Bryce's culinary skills and some flamboyant if not deadly action set pieces (mountain biking in Maui down an active volcano). Bond may or may not be mentioned or even appear.
This is coming together and may be more quickly done than expected.
Found a few lines I jotted down in my idea folder.
Bryce stands in an alcove of a casino off it's bar with a curvy brunette in his arms as she kisses him.
Mary: So *kiss* are you planning *kiss* on raising the stakes? *kiss*
Bryce turns her about pinning her to the wall.
Bryce: *long breathy kiss* Trust me *kiss* My stake is already rising.
Thanks everyone. On we go.

Bryce (003) - Writing Bond so you don't have to.
That is perfect.

It's flowing right now.
Well, Casino Royale began with Fleming wanting to write his memoirs yet perfected and, as some have said, to also fight off his pre-marital jitters.
Well, far as I know, I'm not soon to wed, but with the "fourth decade" looming in November, maybe "None Shall Regret" is just that for me.
It feels right.
Zencat once told me "You're not James Bond. You're Ian Fleming."
Maybe that "cat" had it right.
Given the night on the town I had with Sir Paul (Fleming and Ivar Bryce were smiling somewhere) it may just be a sign.
Thanks for all the great support and quips everyone.
Back to the draft.

I'm anxious to soak up every word of it in a manner not unlike the way a bottle of scotch seems to end up when presented to the Triple Threat of JJM (without the aftermath of waking up in Brazil with a mule and a hangover).

I'll definitely read it, Mister Bryce.
I'm anxious to soak up every word of it in a manner not unlike the way a bottle of scotch seems to end up when presented to the Triple Threat of JJM (without the aftermath of waking up in Brazil with a mule and a hangover).
That only happened once.
I'm still trying to figure out how Joyce got the damn thing into the elevator at the hotel.
The sight of a mule drinking out of an ice bucket in your room when you wake up is just one of those images you can't erase.
004 still in his tux asleep in the bathtub, Joyce swearing (both at us and in her testimony) that she won the mule in a poker game....
It was a very late night that time in Cairo...
Actually...It was in Rio...and how did you know?

My brother says he's woken up with a mule in his hotel room many a time and it is indeed quite a sobering imageThe sight of a mule drinking out of an ice bucket in your room when you wake up is just one of those images you can't erase.

Oh, it is...
No....
Really.

You did. Regardless of the rules, a full house (Kings over eights as I recall) beats a baby-straight.
How the Hell did a mule end up on the table?
I was never clear on that, but I was more...er..."focused" on the dancer in my arms (Maria...Marina...Kathy?) at that point and the Navy sailors were still insisting they could hold their own against a "Fly Boy" at the bar with 004. I don't remember which one started puking first, but I do recall Matt laughing at him as he opened the next bottle of Glenlivet 18.
Part of the reason the Admiral will NEVER allow the three of us to go back to Brazil together.

Well, you know... table stakes.
Big table... small mule.

If there's one man who can do it, it's you, my friend.
But one thing. This is not 'fan-fic'. This is CBn's James Bond doing James Bond.
How about a video?. I'll film it one day. When we can get over there.
I was really up to do some Roger as Bond spoofs, but I just haven't got the guts. Far better behind the camera these days.
Cheers,
Ian
