Maybe. But I wonder if he'd have said yes to this film if it hadn't been written by one of his mates?
More than likely, I don't think Daniel would string someone along just because their a friend. I'ts quite refreshing to come across someone who has integrity who does not drop or forget frienships and promises now that he is "famous".

I think that you will find that if only one person saw this movie, Daniel Craig would class this as a success, there are some actors who enjoy their craft enough to take on projects that interests them and which they know will not have global appeal.
Daniel is one of those people who is willing to give others the opportunity to showcase their talent by utlising his fame to put back something into the profession he loves.
Totally agree. He might have had too much heart in it to be objective anymore - and that might have been the problem, but I am sure, he will do it all over again. I think, there wil be a time, where he will be more of a producer/director than actor.
And then - if you look here, the film IS 10 at least

Doesn't sound great, but I think stories of it 'flopping' are a little unfair- it's not the kind of film that's supposed to be number one at the box office and has only got so much promotion because it's got James Bond in it. It's pretty much on a level with his previous stuff like The Mother etc. which didn't get stories of how badly they 'flopped'.
Yeah to be honest I was pretty surprised to see all the hype and publicity for the film, and the gala star-studded premiere etc, when it was pretty obvious it was an arthouse film much like Enduring love and The Mother. If you compare it on that scale, FOAF beat those two in its opening weekend alone.
Hmm, just looked at the box office charts, I see it opened on the same week as IN BRUGES, which probably tapped most of the sorta-arthouse crowd (and quite frankly, I'd want to see that before FOAF too, if I hadn't done so already).
Still, assuming FOAF does get a US arthouse release, I'll be there. I strongly suspect it'll be out here in say, mid-October, two weeks before QOS

Count me in as well. I'm really hoping a few theatres around here will pick this one up. Didn't think about the release tieing in with Quantum of Solace, but that probably wouldn't be a bad decision marketing-wise.

A US release looks iffy at this point I think.

Flashbacks of a Fool will hit R1 DVD on November 4, 2008, just 10 days before the US release of Quantum of Solace. How convenient.
Excellent news! Don't think this got a wide US theatrical release, so I wasn't able to see it yet, but it really does look good.

I intend to love it during that excruciating Oct 31-Nov 13 period when it will not be safe for mortal man to be in here!

That´s an old one. It popped up some time after the filming, but never made it to really headline news. i can´t imagine them doing anything wrong - rather that guy tries to fix his house on a film companies expense.
yes I know its old but the lawsuit has just come to court apparently.

I found the movie to be a disappointment, with only Craig keeping it afloat. The script seemed flabby and the plot dragged frequently.
How much screen time does Craig actually have? Is it an extended cameo or a real leading role? I'm not surprised that the film's a disappointment. So far Craig's choice in non-Bond films hasn't been impressive. We'll see if DEFIANCE changes that. Fingers crossed.

Hmm, more than a cameo but barely a leading role. He features at the start (about 25 minutes) and at the end (maybe 15 minutes). Those are only rough estimates though. How much screen time does Craig actually have? Is it an extended cameo or a real leading role?

For Daniel's sake--and hours--here's hoping DEFIANCE is good...and an actual starring role.
