Thanks. The scene did come in my dream. I thought about it all morning and elaborated on it when I posted it. I have to say I miss seeing something fun and sexy in a Bond film. Not too serious, a little comic bookish. But of course, this opening can be expanded to a more serious story. I thought the jade actually belongs to her late father, probably a scientist of some sort. Thus the girl sees it as her property. Not only is it a family jewel, it also contains a secret that the baddies want. It's very old fashioned comicbook Bond that I sorely miss and it presents a girl that we haven't seen in the series before. A kind of sexy cat burglar who uses her skill and wit, and can change her appearance and tactics to achieve what she wants to achieve. Basically a modern girl who can take care of herself on her own. Mysterious, strong and yet feminine. Again, almost a comic book character. I thought it would be a good departure from the very serious Vesper, whom I like very much too.

I doubt we'll see a comic book-ish Bond film with Craig in the lead, but perhaps after Craig they'll want to go outlandish, maybe having a mixture of Moore's outragessnous and Brosnan's action-film mentality. Would make for a great mix.

That was the little compliant about CR. Some Bond fans didn't think it was "Bondish". I think what they meant was the fantasy, the spectacle was missing. I think Bond can be a little comic-bookish but has to base on a threat or a situation that is potentially real. That would be a perfect mix. That also keeps young boys and girls going to the cinemas to see the movies over and over again, and keep the series going on and on. The Bond films give the audience something to daydream about. That's what's missing in CR. CR is very very good but I hope to see Bond 22 with a little more small doses of imagination and fun to make it more "Bond". The Roger Moore Bonds were over-the-top. Almost made for kids. I think one or two of the new Bonds can be treated as comic books for adults. That's also the attitude to keep it apart from more serious stories eg. the Bourne series.

And the setting at the Forbidden City. It's a spectacular location, mysterious and Bond has never been there before. China allowed to show CR in their cinemas this time. It's the first time a Bond film was shown in Chinese cinemas. Maybe it's time Bond should actually pay a visit to the country. Have you ever seen a car chase on film in the busy modern streets of Beijing? I haven't. Wouldn't it be a cool thing to see?

It would be great if the gunbarrel opened on White driving along the countriside to the villa, intercutting with Bond breaking in and finding Mr Whites office, he then looks through the personal files on his computer, finding Vespers dossier. He then has flashbacks of him and Vesper laughing and having fun (probably new footage) then shows a loving smile when he takes a look ts Vespers photograph on her file. Bond then hears an engine outside, looks out of the window and see's White pulling up in his car - We all know what happens next :cooltongue:

Mharkin's idea is fresh. I had not thought of having a scene before the kneecapping, would be neat to see. But, I would really like to see what happens afterwards. Perhaps you could fit that in without length issues.
Craig could be known as the intercut PTS Bond, mixing it up.
