Awhile ago there was a thread about how there has never been rain in a Bond film, but it looks like "Casino Royale" will change that!

Amazing Stunt with the DBS But i loved the fast motion at the Casino Table - it didn't wotk in DAD but it definatly works with CR
I didn't like that at all. That's the weakest part of this trailer. It was poorly done by the trailer marketing people - I hope. The images do not link up. The guy sitting to Bond's left just suddenly acquires a deck of cards, people in the background just disappear, Bond's hand doesn't link up, nor does Leiter's. It looks awful. The first time around it looked weird, the second and third time I started noticing more and more. Play that scene going frame by frame. It's really bad.
I just hope they don't go for that slick editing crap in this film to be honest. It's not needed and it doesn't fit Bond at all in my opinion.

I've always wondered what Bond is looking at when he gets off the plane. It's the very first shot in the trailer and I just want to know where he is and what's going on that has his attention?
Taking in the view -- also looking at Le Chiffre's Sunseeker out in the harbor.

I'm pretty sure that's just an effect for the trailer.

Does it remind anyone of damsel in distress tied to train tracks?
The whole TMWTGG thing? I'd be surprised if that weren't the inspiration.

Vesper wasnt out in the middle of the road in the book. Bond's car hit some spikes laid out by Vesper's kidnappers. He lost control of the car and crashed it.

You're right, it was the spikes. I just finished the book last week. I think this will be a very good adaptation. The new trailer is superb.

It's not that THEY crashed the Aston, or that's it not THAT great of a stunt, but the shock value is that BOND ACTUALLY FULL ON CRASHED A CAR, BY HIMSLEF.
Well I knew they were going to up the Aston, but not that bad. Geez. It's not the amazing stunt, it's that they totalled an Aston in that manner. Not a quick explosion or something.. just it breaking up like crazy in a barrel roll. Very awesome. Makes a good ending to it all too.
And since we can talk about spoliers here, you know that the carpet-beater is going to make an appearence in the next scene.
Other spoliers, stromberg has posted a few new pictures in the non-spolier thread about the trailer; they're on page 3 of the thread. Take a look at the 3rd picture. Mr. White isn't wearing gold-trimmed sunglasses like in the script.
And what's really cool about the trailer, it even comfuses the people who have read the book, like, what is up with the building in what is clearly Venice falling down? It seems like Vesper is trapped in an elevator in that building.
Maybe she destroyes it herself? A cover for her suicied? And Bond looks like he is still trying to rescue her, like he doesn't know that she was a traitor. Maybe he fails saving her, cries like a 5-year-old girl, then finds out she was a trator. Huh. Hmm...
Well this is the spolier thread so I'll answer this thing about the buildings and water, and if you dont want to read, dont look below:
If the mods dont want this post up here feel free to re-move it

You made that up.
After seeing the trailer and me saying that, I made it up? Go look on the 'script readers only' thread somewhere. Thats where this info came from. From someone who read the script.

Well then someone made it up, because I and several others have read the script and that is not true at all.
Spoiler
I think he got that from one of the theories we came up with that what if

[mra]Does it look to anyone else that Vesper wants to die while underwater in that elevator. Like she sees Bond about to rescue her and is hoping he doesn

Guess I forgot. I just remember him swerving and crashing. My mistake. I still don't get the TMWTGG bit. Maybe I'm forgetting something.

I don't think I'll be confirming anything from the script anymore. I'll let those who haven't read the script have their fun!
Indeed. For all they know, LeChiffre kills Bond during the torture and the rest of the film is LeChiffre doing nasty things.

Indeed it does!! Here's the thread you were referring to:It's not a spoiler but one small detail I noticed...
Awhile ago there was a thread about how there has never been rain in a Bond film, but it looks like "Casino Royale" will change that!
"Has it ever rained in a Bond movie?"

The reference to TMWTGG was in respect of the whole Western-themed 'damsel in distress' climax in Fleming's TMWTGG (not the Casino Royale novel).
I'm not sure if I need this but in Fleming's novel...
Of course I haven't completely spoiled the climax, for those in the know...
Hope that helps.

Well I've noticed a few small tweaks in dialogue which I consider to be improvements. Can't remember them off the top of my head, and I'm having a few problems with the trailer at the moment, but I'll post them at a later date!
[/quote]
I've now gathered together all the dialogue from the trailer, and think it would be best to post here. There are a few tweaks as I've mentioned, and it's probable that certain phrases from the movie have been put together merely for the purpose of the trailer. I've no complaints about any of it though. It seems like it's been tidied up to run smoother. Anyone who's read the script will be able to notice the changes too I imagine. Here's the dialogue:
Dryden: Your file shows no kills, but to become a Double-O it takes

Damsel in distress tied = Emma Peel, do you guys have any knowledge of spy series, outside of Bond
I was thinking it went back to the silent films of the teens and twenties.

Can anybody who's read the script say what preceded Bond saying "Yes, considerably" to at the beginning? That's the only thing that didn't really make sense for me seeing the trailer.
Actually in the script he says "made you feel it, did he?...well, no worry, the second is..."
Then Bond kills him and says "yes, considerably" in response to "made you feel it, did he?"

Wrong. "Yes, considerably" is not said in response to "Made you feel it" - it's answering the statement that Dryden was saying.

Dryden was cut off before he could finish the thought "No worry, the second is easier." You're supposed to understand that's where he's going with it. So the "Yes, considerably" is Bond's response - the second kill is, in fact, much easier.
