DR NO's casino scene almost occupies a parallel universe in what it represents, and how well it introduces the character.

Looking beyond that, you could pretty much make a convincing case for any of the others. Despite other obvious inconsistencies through the series, the casino scenes are fairly strong as a rule.

My favourites: SKYFALL is incredibly atmospheric; THUNDERBALL has a tremendously tense face-off; GOLDENEYE reminded everybody who and what Bond was after a six-year hiatus.

It looks as if Dr No's casino scene takes place in exactly the same Pinewood stage as the MI6 dining room in Goldfinger, when Bond, M and Colonel Smithers discuss gold.

Thunderball remains my favourite casino scene. Elegance and danger ebbing under the surface, with Connery simply ice cool. Skyfall had a terrific casino sequence. Especially the chat with Severine and toasting the guards with his martini. That whole segment took its time and built the tension and atmosphere.
