I just saw the commercial last night as well. I'll be rolling tape Sept. 5th.
Look at what I just found on IGN. Read all the way down. This sucks!
If you don't want to read it, heres the quote:
"UPDATE: A Sony rep we contacted has stated that the Nip/Tuck Bond trailer rumor is false, so don't look for the trailer there."
I don't believe it, quite frankly. Several times now I've seen the ad on FX, and I know at least one other poster in here has seen the same thing. I saw it again just last night during "It's always sunny in Philadelphia". It clearly says the season premiere of Nip/Tuck is sponsored by Sony pictures, with previews "of the fall's hottest movies". It flashes up several movie posters, ONE OF WHICH IS CASINO ROYALE. The other four are Running with scissors, Stranger than fiction, The Pursuit of Happyness, and Holiday. It's happening.

CR Trailer To Air During Nip/Tuck on Sep. 5th

Because they're morons, that's why.
Ah - I was looking for the definitive answer. And there it is, staring me full in the face.

Because they're morons, that's why. We should've had a second teaser at this point with a theatrical one coming in early October. So far aside from the official site Sony has been in my eyes sub-par with it's marketing.
While I think they could be doing better, their trailer is coming at the right time (when I believe they'll approximately release it). You can't release the full trailer too early, which I thought early September was. Late September is the best time with variations or other trailers in October as well as TV spots beginning in November possibly late October.
Don't confuse what you want with what should be done.

It's probably that same Sony rep who said, "It will most definitely be Pierce in CR" right before they announced Craig as Bond...

No Sony rep said that to my knowledge. It was EON who used similar wording to say it would "definitely not be Pierce." IIRC

Sony said that. It was big news when it came out. Even bigger when it was discovered it wasn't true...

So, what I hear is there WILL be a CR spot on Nip/Tuck, but it's not known whether it's a new trailer or the old one. Sort of back where we started. But there will be something.
IMO if they don't show a new trailer I would call it a fumble on the part of the EON/Sony PR department. At least like you say, we will see something as will the millions who tune in to Nip/tuck on Sept. 5th. Maybe what the Sony rep was trying to say was the triler won't be new when we see it on Sept 5th if you know what I mean.

Can anybody here confirm that they will be on YouTube duty tonight? I would happily volunteer but I lack the technology to make it happen.

Somebody will. If we can get a clip from an obscure French cable show up for the world to see, this shouldn't be a problem
