What I meant was that he seems to lack the WOW! factor.

Not to me.

I think there's plenty of WOW there. Perhaps even a WOW WOW!

So if Craig causes someone to spill coffee all over themselves he too will have the wow factor?

Julian McMahon looks like a tart. Doesn't make me say wow, sorry.

Daniel Craig looks tough and interesting and his performance as Bond will make me say "WOW"! That's the difference, and people don't defend him randomly because he lacks some magic factor, they defend him because some people constantly snipe at him and make websites trying to get him out of the role before he has even made his first Bond film, though we think he's a fantastic choice.

He is interesting because he can look so un-like Bond but when he is playing 007 he personifies everything the character is about, looking masculine and hard and a killer yet with a smooth, very English charm and command with worldy knowledge and good taste in contrast. He has interesting features and doesn't just look like a boring plastic playboy who smirks and raises his eyebrow, that's the kind of person the real character of Bond would want to punch in the face.

Interesting how a thread about the possible premiere of the CR trailer has turned into McMahon bashing.

Lol...I actually saw it coming. I knew there could be no mention on these boards of Nip/Tuck without getting into the Julian McMahon as a Bond candidate debate. I guess I'm in the rare position of liking both McMahon and Craig, although they'd probably be polar opposites of the 007 spectrum.

Yeah I know what you mean. I quite liked the idea of McMahon - even though his eybrows are quite amusing. He's a shoe-in in so many ways. Probably wouldn't have suited this new direction though.

Count me in the camp for both Craig and McMahon. I like Craig and believe he was the best choice as Bond, but I've followed McMahon for several years and would have much rather seen him as Bond as opposed to Dominick West or Goran Visnicij or whatever his name is. Funny that some people are ripping McMahon for a lot of the qualities Brosnan brought to the table 20 years ago.

To have the CR trailer premiere on one of my favorite shows is the best of both worlds.

Yep - Julian suited the role as a continuation of Brosnan. Craig suits the role as a new start.

I would have been happy as a clam to go see Bond films starring Julian McMahon. But like others have said, he probably wouldnt have suited this direction they're taking.

I think Julian McMahon would have been a great Bond. Even though they are going in the direction the are headed in, I still believe he would have done a good if not better job than Brosnan!

Look at what I just found on IGN. Read all the way down. This sucks! :)

If you don't want to read it, heres the quote:

"UPDATE: A Sony rep we contacted has stated that the Nip/Tuck Bond trailer rumor is false, so don't look for the trailer there."

That's Warner Bros. though, right? They wouldn't attach it to that, would they?

I don't believe it, quite frankly. Several times now I've seen the ad on FX, and I know at least one other poster in here has seen the same thing. I saw it again just last night during "It's always sunny in Philadelphia". It clearly says the season premiere of Nip/Tuck is sponsored by Sony pictures, with previews "of the fall's hottest movies". It flashes up several movie posters, ONE OF WHICH IS CASINO ROYALE. The other four are Running with scissors, Stranger than fiction, The Pursuit of Happyness, and Holiday. It's happening.

It could just be the teaser then because this is official, and why would Sony dispell a rumour that could possibly add hundreds more viewers if it was true?

No the trailer would not be "attached" but enclosed in the can. This is often how trailering is done as studios need to promote their films on competitive features.

Why would they only be showing the 4-month old teaser when we're just 2 and half months before the release of the film? I acknowledge its entirely possible that's what they're doing, as the ad did not explicitly state it was going to be a NEW CR trailer, but why 'tease' at this point?

Because they're morons, that's why. We should've had a second teaser at this point with a theatrical one coming in early October. So far aside from the official site Sony has been in my eyes sub-par with it's marketing.

"Update : False Rumour"...? :)

How is it a false rumour, or indeed any kind of rumour, when there is a commercial during just about every ad break on FX that states there will be a Casino Royale preview during the season premiere of Nip/Tuck? Is it also just a rumour that CR will be in theatres on November 17?
So, according to IGN then (a source of many false Bond rumours in itself, e.g. that Casino Royale featured a character called Massus and that David Suchet would be playing Le Chiffre/M/and possibly Vesper Lynd too), a "Sony rep" denied it. Isn't it pretty much standard procedure for the Bond people to deny everything? Even more so if its about something on the internet?

I doubt they'd use it - unless it's "leaked" early, I don't see us hearing it till the film.

It will be earlier than that - mostly the sound track comes out at least a week before, if not a couple of weeks. And the single comes out before that and starts playing on the radio a bit earlier. Doesn't mean it will be on the trailer though - I think they are most likely to go with some old stuff on that.
