I'm in a very silly mood this afternoon, so I've stuck Diamonds Are Forever in the PS3.

How does everyone watch their Bond movies? Do you tend to sit and watch the whole thing, or do you put it on in the background?

Depends. If I'm alone then I tend to be more focused. If not I find myself doing other things, probably to refrain myself from starting to babble what they would find useless trivia. My mom couldn't care less if "the b*tch is dead" was a line from the book, it was a mean, rude line.

I can tell that my excitement in starting to build for Quantum of Solace. Lately I've been wanting to watch Casino Royale all the time. :(

I can honestly say I've watched it 6 times in the past week. I want to go again. :)

Well on account that I've already seen each one, multiple times, Im not really afraid Im going to miss anything. So it's usually just in the background, as Im running in and out of the room, doing various things. Unless that is, a friend is over or something, and we've specifically decided we wanted to watch a Bond film. Thats just me

I bet you know if off-by-heart, by now.

I normally watch a movie all the way through, but sometimes I will watch a favourite section, or the PTS of a movie.

I can see what you mean Dave, most of 2007 I used to skip to the PTS, Stairwell Fight, Car Crash and the end scene. Now I tend to watch the movie in full. :(

Moonraker

I feel like watching the PTS to see the shot mentioned in the Best camera shot thread, of Bond freefalling and the plane in the background.

I watched TSWLM today, the first time in a long time. My experience was much better for it. It is a piece of fun, escapist entertainment done right. This is Moore's best without a doubt in my view. His style of Bond film all came together and worked brilliantly. Nearly every scene is well remembered cinema.

I am in the mood for all things Bond now having spent hours today reading this fantastic forum.

Think I will go for................................it's GOT to be 'The Living Daylights', followed by 'Hot Fuzz', what a great dichotomy.

Tomorrow Never Dies and You Only Live Twice. In the mood for fast paced, action-packed Bond with an Asian setting. Maybe I'll do a double feature.

Well, since it's still Summer, Thunderball. But this new fella, Craig is it? He's nudging into my comfort zone pretty strongly with Casino Royale during this time of year.

Just finished GOLDFINGER, a very well directed but relatively boring affair. I'll take THUNDERBALL over it any day.

Yesterday, I gave LTK another chance. Loved parts of it, again hated the way Pam was supposed to be a tough CIA agent but behaved towards Bond like a little schoolgirl. Dalton is fantastic, Carey Lowell is looking extremely beautiful (after her makeover). Talisa Soto is IMO rather bland. Davi is a good, very believable villain. The "Bond skiing on his feet before entering the plane"-sequence is wonderful and the final truck chase as well. Yet, in between there are lots of routine sequences and silly stuff that contradicts the serious tone (yes, also the Q scenes).

I guess my next choice of Bond will be something conservative. DR.NO...

Sounds like you're doing a bit of a Brosnan-era revisit, MHarkin?

Revisting Brosnan films can be hard for me nowadays in the Craig era. For the first time post-CR, I actually watched a Brosnan Bond film last week. I watched all of GE and TND up till the end of the Saigon motorcycle chase. I have to admit I was very tired when I watched TND and I didn't enjoy it as much as I used to(must have been a mood thing. I've been down on Brosnan ever since CR). So I watched YOLT(the inspiration for TSWLM and TND both) instead and liked it a lot better than either GE or TND, no surprise.

I feel like watching YOLT soon and maybe DAD when I'm up for another Brosnan one again.
