I ve always wanted to erase some of the films forever out of history.

These include: CASINO ROYALE (1967), DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER, LIVE AND LET DIE, THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, the second half of OCTOPUSSY, A VIEW TO A KILL

That would settle it for me because it would mean less creepy 70s aesthetics and even less camp Bond (despite that, I still keep MOONRAKER cause it was posh, it earned money and even Oscar noms if I remember correctly)

I would only want "erase" a few, so asto have them done with a different actor (OHMSS with Connery would have been a completely different film. Nothing against G.L., but Connery & Rigg, would have been great. Connery as Bond in it would have been interesting to watch, given the Connery Bond films right before it) or more seriously ( Casino Royale '67 ).
Being a major Dalton fan, I'd have like to see Goldeneye and Day Another Day done with Dalton.

While I don't hate Brosnan or his films, I'd erase them from existence. They don't really bring anything new to the table (I know I know, ironic considering the series has been around 40+ years).

None. Despite the fact I may dislike some (Mainly the Brosnan era) I would hate to see where the series would be today.

Although I suppose if we got rid of CR'67 it wouldn't make much difference.

I could live with Licence to Kill vanishing. Casino Royale would be second on the list.

Honestly, I wouldn't even want my perrenial least-favorite Bond film (DAF) to disappear - Even the worst Bond flicks usually contain something of merit (though with DAF, it's debatable), and I wouldn't want to see a hole in the series anywhere.

TWINE may be an exception though. That film brought absolutely nothing new to the table.

As far as my personal viewing is concerned, I have already made the seven EON movies between DAF and The Living Daylights vanish. But as long as other people can enjoy them, they should remain.

I hope you're refering to the 1967 version.

I could live without A View to a Kill, but at the same time I don't think my life would be complete if I couldn't bag on it from time to time.

I was pretty much set to agree, then I figured I'd NSNA is really the only one I could do without.

Indeed, I probably should have made that clear  . Very excited about it and am incapable of dismissing it four months before release.

I could do without Diamonds Are Forever. If ever there was a pointless film, this would have to be it. It's the only Bond film that I don't own in some format, and it's the one that I watch the least, so I guess I've sort of already made it disappear within my own Bond viewing experience.

I'm going to change my mind what I said earlier (that I'd erase all four Brosnan's).

I'd erase Goldeneye, and Diamonds Are Forever, but keep the rest.

The Brosnan films.

Until the Brosnan Era, even when you had a bad Bond movie, that merely meant that it was less than the sum of its parts. For example, A View to a Kill is not really a great Bond, but it still has Chris Walken, Patrick Macnee, a good ski sequence, two good set pieces at the end, and one of the best Barry scores. What does Die Another Day have? Tomorrow Never Dies Nothing. Just a bunch of contrived "this time it's personal" plots.

When my attache case of UEs arrives either tomorrow or Tuesday, I'll be selling the last four movies. Licence to Kill was a great ending to a great series. Hopefully the rebooted series will be worth watching as well.

That would be pretty interesting as Casino Royale would have been the first Bond film for 17 years. Imagine all the hype what would of been present on opening day.

If I were to erase any Bond movie from existance it would probably be Diamonds Are Forever, that film is just a mockery. If Live and Let Die followed On Her Majestys Secret Service it would have been acceptable, I'm not saying brilliant but atleast it kind of referanced Tracy.

"Mrs. Bond is waiting for you"
"Mrs Bond?..."

Rogers face is a gem.

I'd rather Diamonds Are Forever be erased from the franchise at is brought nothing good to the series, at least Live and Let Die had a strong, entertaining storyline.

I dont think it is realistic to 'remove' one Bondfilm and expect all other films to stay the same. Without MR, there's no FYEO.

And, although I hated LTK, it was an experiment which made me appreciate the first 15 films far, far, more! So lets keep it in there.

I'd erase LTK. I don't have a particular reason for this, I just don't feel like watching it!

I'd hate to see any of them go. Even the worst - they're still Bond films, and I grew up with them. This thread has actually brought me to the realization that many of my 'least favourite' Bond films are dictated by the company keep here and at AJB - I immediately associate the sight of 'DAF', 'MR', or 'AVTAK' with poorness. But, when I was younger, I was probably completely oblivious to their flaws - to me they were all just Bond films, and Bond films could do no wrong. Therefore - please, lets keep them all!

I truly believe that all the films bring something to the canon as all were presumeably suitable to their times, even if not necessarily so in repeated viewings two decades down the line.

So, having said that, the only film that should disappear is TWODDLE since it isn't really a Bond film.

I love all the Bond films, for me it's a matter of transformation rather than disappearance. If it was up to me, I'd change Diamonds Are Forever. First, pay George Lazenby all the money in the world for ONE MORE MOVIE  Then improve the script, less humour, more grit, and finally, change Blofeld i.e. NOT Charles Gray, either bring back old Telly or find someone else!

Your idea is a perfectly rational one. They should've turned a deaf ear to George's trash talking and left Sean in retirement. Then DAF would've at least had a chance at being a good movie.

This whole thread is a bummer. You guys are nuking my childhood memories left and right. I wouldn't erase any Bond film because while there are a few I don't like as much, every Bond film is an important part of the series' history and someone somewhere is fond of it and enjoys it and has nice memories of it. Why would I want to be so selfish as to "erase" someone's favorite movie just because it's not my cup of tea?
