Back in 1967 some people no doubt said the same in relation to Connery.

I couldn't see past Brosnan for another Bond but after watching Kate and Leopold I could see Hugh Jackman playing the part. He certainly has the looks, sophistication and accent. I haven't seen any other films with him in it so the question for me would be around his action ability. Has he been in any action films?

Swordfish was was a good acton movie, he can certainly pull it off.

Spectre, even though Kate and Leopold is not an action film, its a better basis to judge Jackman as a potential Bond than Swordfish is. Not that we cant judge him on his appearance in Swordfish, its just that he plays a more Bond like character in K&L.
