Colin Farrel?!? As Bond?!? I'm sorry, but never in a million years will I be able to agree with that one. In fact, I'm shuddering just thinking about it. I've never taken a liking to Farrel's performances. Just wait until you see him as Bullseye in the upcoming Daredevil (cringe). I just don't agree. Hugh Jackman is a far superior choice for the successor.

I think i'll have to agree with you on this one EDC. Farrel is my current favourite at the moment too. He's got the look, the accent, the onscreen presence, and an overall polish - that makes him perfect for the role.

Great actor... Great Bond.

You're part of my possy now Shocktroop. He's everything you could hope for in a Bond and his performance in Minority Report (watch it Microglobe... it'll blow away all of your ideas about Colin Farrel's previous performances) is wonderful and makes a far more interesting character than Cruise. Just shave off the beard and you've got a wonderful Bond. I think you need that Celtic charm to make the filmatic Bond Bond.

Hmmm...the next Bond. I suggest:

-Ewan McGregor (someone said he was out of the running - why?)

-Colin Farrel (well, he's not exactly English, but he looks the part)

-Nick Moran (haven't seen too much of his acting, but he's English and looks appropriate)

-Jude Law (would be perfect if only he had more hair. Not that that stopped Connery)

I think Hugh Jackman isn't right chose.
The man who want to play Bond must look like a killer.
Hugh Jackman doesn't look like a killer.
My chose is Ralph Fiennes but he will be to old when Pierce will gone

I would be for Hugh Jackman as Bond. He's the only real choice out there to carry on the franchise.

Well said, Colonel Moon: Bond must look like a killer, something which Dalton and Brosnan definitely pulled off. Jackman, Jude Law and the rest just don't cut it in this department. If Ewan McGregor played Bond, audiences wouldn't be able to stop thinking of Obi Wan Kenobi, and Martin Kemp? As in, Steve Owen from EastEnders? Well, that would blow all credibility with British audiences at least (along with his Spandau Ballet past). I've said it before and I'll say it again: Brosnan's gonna be a very tough act to follow, and I'll wager that for his replacement EON and co. will be looking to choose as close to an unknown actor as possible.

So, does that mean Cuba Gooding, Jr, won't be playing Bond?

What about Guy Pierce from MEMENTO and LA CONFIDENTIAL. I always thought he could be a great Superman. But who needs that blue boyscout when you have a James Bond.

To be honest I don't see anything wrong with Jackman, although I'm not sure he'll get the part. I don't think he's the man EON etc are after. I think they will go for someone who is a little less well-known and who will ask for a small wage for the film. Like Brosnan, I think someone here mentioned a million

When I first heard about the prospect of Hugh Jackman becoming 007, I wasn't too excited. However, after actually seeing him perform and trying to picture him as James Bond, I now am in favor of him becoming Bond #6. That's not to say that someone better might not come along.

Guy Pierce, not a bad idea. He's definitely a talented actor. Put him on the shortlist.

Jackman is a cissy! He's an Aussie for a start, not cruel or mean enough. He looks like a poncey Italian model, not James Bond! James Bond was a hard as nails ruthless ENGLISH bastard! not an Aussie nonce!

Hugh Jackman. Hrmph. I don't know whether I should say this or not, but Jackie here may be a contender for Bond #7, not #6. He just seems a wee bit too young right now. Give him time to age more, mature more as an actor, and he could pull off being Bond later on.

Jackman looks like a right jessie. James Bond's got to have hairs on his chest, and be a ruthless killer. Jackman looks more like a poncey male model!

I type plenty of things about Timothy Dalton without slagging him off. Anyway, that's my opinion. Sorry if I did something ridiculous like EXPRESSED it.

Okay, I'll rephrase my question, could you post a post that's not about Tim and about another Bond actor that doesn't slag the person off? :) Honestly, a poncey male model? There's almost jealousy there :)

Maybe Jackman could be the next Lazenby. Not because he's an Aussie, but because he seems like the kind of guy who could not play Bond for like 7 films. He will get the role for lets say, Bond 23 and then someone will replace him and that person will make up to 6 or 7 Bond pictures. However, I would still be interested to see Jackman as Bond. Sort of a light Bond.

Hugh Jackman: One picture for you man.

I'd rather see Wil Ferrell as Bond than Colin Farrell. Wil at least is intentionally funny. I always thought Farrell looks just like Treat Williams. Look at him in Minority Report, and see what you think.
