Another Scene from Tomorrow Never Dies

"Oh heaven knows, I've been lost at sea...... Adrift!"

:D

Carvers face is a picture.

It's "I'd be lost at sea, adrift". He's talking about how he'd feel if he was to try to write a novel.

Surely there was a part of a Bond film that made you laugh

Here are some that were funny to me:

The part when Bond kicked Blofeld's cat in Diamonds Are Forever

The part when Jaws and his mates ran a car off a cliff and exploded; Jaws was the only survivor (Spy Who Loved Me)

The part when Jaws crashed through the wall in a tram (Moonraker)

and the part in Moonraker when the man hiding in the coffin was throwing a couple of knives at Bond (he had a perfect place to die in... at least for pretending to be dead  )

What are yours?

I love it on Tomorrow Never Dies when Bond runs through the door of the printing works and the alarms start blaring. Bond mutters "Oh Sh[censored]!" under his breath. That always makes me smile.

All the moments that are meant to be humorous in CASINO ROYALE are very funny (a change after the Brosnan era imo). Bond running through the wall, Vesper owning him verbally during their train conversation, asking her if she's okay despite nearly dying of poison, his bewildered WTF reaction to Mendel's laugh, his defiance of Le Chiffre during the torture scene etc. Who'd have imagined that the one Bond film which has some of the darkest moments in the movie franchise ever also contains some of the funniest and in the case of the torture scene both at the same time.

Roger Moore's delivery of 'funny' lines during all his Bond films. Moore could sell funny dialogue and, due to his delivery, make it funnier and even more so sold lines that were cringeworthy on paper but chucklesome coming out of his mouth ('Just keeping the British end up sir!' etc). A live action Bugs Bunny in every sense of the word (and that's a compliment).

Dalton's Bond's exasperated reaction(s) to Kara throughout TLD (waiting impatiently in the car as she goes back for her cello, 'We're Free (Dalton's Bond's response: Kara were in a Russian Airbase in Afghanistan' lol, towards the end trying to get Kara to fly into the back of the plane whilst all hell breaks loose and she initially just smiles dreamily at him).

Despite fandom's low opinion of the movie DAF may be the most consistently funny of all Bond films (all moments meant to be funny are but my personal favourite scene is the brief moment between Wint and Kidd on the plane 'Ms Case sure is a pretty woman (awkward pause) then 'heh'') hilarious stuff.

Also to add Jaws' reactions to being unable to best Bond in both TSWLM and Moonraker are worthy of the Road Runner/Wild E Coyote cartoons. The funniest occurs in Moonraker where during the Rio carnival he's swept away by partygoers as he's about to physically fight Bond and despite some desperate attempts eventually gives up and decides to join the festivities!

My boyfriend has this awful habit of breaking me up when we see movies together. He leans over at just the right moment and says something that makes me laugh out loud. When we saw CR, he zeroed right in on the Tournament Director and his Ray Daviesesque mustache, and instantly found his joke. He waited until the director said his line about breaking for one hour, then leaned over and added in the guy's accent "Don't forget, I will now be in the lounge with my Kinks tribute band." which killed me. Ah well I guess you'd have to have been there. . .

Now for an actual amusing moment that's in the movie, I always find Bond pitching Mollaka's gun right back at him, clonking him in the head to be funny. That and Bond looks almost as surprised to have made it up on the beam as Mollaka is.

I remember people laughing during the last hand in CR, when they were showing individual shots of characters looking intense. For some reason, Mr Fukutu got a lot of laughs.

Showing TLD to a friend (who commented "This is the funninest Bond film ever!" strangely enough) I remember him laughing hysterically at the following scenes
- Bond landing on the boat after the girl says "If only I could find a real man"
- Bond turning on Saunder's binoculars
- Bond shutting "the pea" after responding that Koskov was the first one they're trying the thing on (that one got the loudest laugh from my friend)
- Police car cut by the laser, and the "Salt corrosion" remark

Had to leave halfway through the film so I didn't see his other reactions

I am ashamed to say I did laugh at Jaws flapping his arms in the MR PTS.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already but the one that tops them for me so far is the scene in CR where Dan parks the van setting the alarms off for a diversion then nonchalantly lobs the keys over his shoulder.

Sheer perfection.

When Burt Saxby's dead body is rolling down the hillside.

Bond: ...Saxby...
Whyte: BURT Saxby!?!?
Bond: Yeah.
Whyte: Tell him he's fired!

The look Bond that Bond gives him is priceless.

I always thought the term 'Nicked' refered to stolen, so when I first saw Casino Royale and Bond announced to the receptionist that he "Nicked the door", I just imagined Bond running down the beach with an Aston Martin DB5 door!

I know it sounds stupid but I lol'ed in the Cinema at it.

Now, in FYEO when Bond is in the submarine with Melina she says:" Be careful James, is 3.000 years old!". Bond's expression is the best!

Bond and Tibbet doing the "playboy and servant" act in "AVTAK". Absolutely hilarious! Here is a funny moment:

Tibbett, Sir Godfrey: Another wealthy owner?

James Bond: Who knows? But she (Stacey Sutton) certainly bare closer inspection.

Tibbett, Sir Godfrey: We're on a mission.

James Bond: Sir Godfrey, on a mission, I am expected to sacrifice myself!

Oh God, I love that scene! The audience applauded when I first saw the movie.

Bond and Vesper's final remarks on the train:

Vesper Lynd: But it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine. You think of women as disposable pleasures, rather than meaningful pursuits. So as charming as you are, Mr. Bond, I will be keeping my eye on our government's money - and off your perfectly-formed .

James Bond: You noticed?

Vesper Lynd: Even accountants have imagination. How was your lamb?

James Bond: Skewered! One sympathizes.

Thunderball, skeet shooting:

007: "Looks terribly difficult...(BANG!)...no it isn't is it?"

The look on Largo's face kills me.

To me, that is the funniest moment in Bond history.

Honouable mentions go to:

Bond asking if the time is correct in FRWL
Bond's facial expression when Pussy ntroduces herself
GF's I expect you to die comment
When Bond tells GF he's been playing with the wrong ball
When Bond throws his hat on to the hook an then proceeds to talk about his next trick only to find M standing behind the door
Bond's facial expression in TND in the car park scene where his tires re-inflate
Bond's slight inferiority complex comment

Something else I actually just laughed at.

The fact that they randomly added in a close up to see what exactly Bond was grabbing when he had his hand up Pams skirt trying to get her gun in Licence to Kill. Sorry I have a sick mind, it's pretty funny though. :(

I'm sad to say, I just caught an unintentionally funny moment in LTK; when Lupe says, "I did something wrong, made him angry", I couldn't help but let out a guffaw at the sheer horribleness of Talisa Soto's acting. The fact that she acts unfazed and nonchalant when Bond has a knife to her throat and is whispering intensely gets to me, as well; it's almost like they're acting in two different movies! :(

Quarrel: Hey Cap'n. Cap'n, what do you think of that!?

You don't hear the boat engine untill 20 seconds later. So it looks like Bond, Quarrel and Honey are looking in terror at the beach, like it's alive of something. :(

Where did you dig that out?

I watched Moonraker the other day and laughed my guts out when Bond was driving the hovercraft-gondola.
