Oh well indeed. It's still less explosions than in a Brosnan film

And those, according to their schedule given to locals, should be happening this week! Perhaps tonight even!

Well, exploding 757's does sound suitably interesting, even though it's remarkably over-the-top.

Thinking about it, doesnt it destroy the point of the scene? Since Bond is trying to prevent the prototype from being destroyed, wouldnt he get reamed for allowing other planes to bite it?

Either way as long as the "prototpye" does not go bang-boom, the day is saved, Le Chiffre is broke, and the story can continue.

This sounds way OTT, but it could be a good thing. This has the hallmarks of a classic OTT Bond explosion like I mentioned in an earlier post. Have you seen a 757?

Heh! I'd imagine the plural is just him dressing it up a bit- just the one blowing up would be more than enough, I'm sure!

What does the filming schedule you got say? Does it tell you how many aircraft are being blown up or any other details?

True, it's been a while since I read the script that I've forgotten the small details.

Oh I'm just going from the article in the local newspaper- 'a small number of explosions' is all they say.

And we all know "a small number of explosions" could mean 2 or 3 large 757's going up. 2 or 3 is small! :D

Or, as you suggested earlier, it could be the tires being shot out.

Yes, but Corbould's comment about using "pounds of C4 for our viewing pleasure" makes me wonder what grade of tires they'll Bond have shooting at.

Well I heard back from an "insider"(he told me stuff about the script before I read it myselfand it all jives). It has changed from the Dec. 12 draft. The person who said they knew someone who worked on the Tanker and said it is to be blown up seems to be right. And it does involve an aircraft going boom. I won't say how it's been changed( At least one suprise for those who have read the script  ) but everything leading up to the part where.....

Spoiler
Spoiler

Although you can probably guess the outcome of the revised scene it is still intense although more inline with standard Bond action, i.e explosive finish. This only raises the offical Casino Royale explosion count to three, which is a far cry from the last few films.

Awww. I loved the original finish - it was incredible. Is that little moment there in some form, or is it lost? If so, I'm very sad.

Actually I can't really say. It's possible they kept that "moment" in some form or another but from what he told me it looks like it's gone.

That's the way it'll play out if my source is correct. An interesting note however if this indeed the case he will be the only villain in the film who will be dispatched in that way.

Some more info I've read. There was a poster on IMDB who lives near Dunsfold. He's said that no explosions have been heard or at least he hasn't heard them. I wonder if it will be filmed elsewhere using minuatures?

Another very interesting thing said was that Richard Branson may a part in the film as the "pilot of that wierd looking plane in the film". I assume that wierd looking aircraft must be the prototype but it seems it's no longer a Boeing 777. It was reported a Virgin Atlantic Airbus was used in Prague and flown to Dunsfold for use in the sequence. Could it now be Virgin Atlantic in jeapordy rather than Boeing?

Saw this in the quick news this morning. Looks like the prototype is a Boeing aircraft, a 747 and it's been mocked up to be a hybrid bomber.

http://commanderbond...p...&item=31835

This could be great news. I was told the aircraft in jeapordy was an airbus. The same source who told me the change also revealed the "new end" to that sequence. Looks like my source was wrong or flat out lying on that. Perhaps "the moment" has been retained.

Would love to see those! So I take it the 747 that had the fuel tanks added that you mentioned in the post about your set visit is the same aircraft.

Yes indeed- should have realised that a 747 wouldn't actually have fuel tanks there! I didn't spot the double engines but they are in my photos. With any luck these should be up for you to have a squizz at soon.

So did you get to visit the set at night when they were filming or were they setting it up during the day? Well, we'll find out soon. In the meantime I found these pics on an aviation site of the actual Virgin Airbus flown in to Prague for the airport shoot. Enjoy!

I do think I'm obsessed with this sequence. This is a summary of the detective work I did looking at various reports, articles, pics, some "insider" info, and connecting the dots. This is not 100% confirmed but it would be intresting to see what turns out true when the final film comes out. SPOILERS!!

You're not the only one obsessed with this sequence! I think it will be the sequence everyone talks about when discussing Casino Royale from here on out. This will be equivalent to DAD's parasurfing...only in a good way!

Yeah, and outside of those who have read the script or been following spoilers, it will be a total suprise. There has been no offical pics or footage of this sequence revealed yet. This sequence will blow people away!(possible pun  )
