Wow, this has got me really thinking:).

1. FRWL, GF, YOLT. To be fair I can't seperate these films, I can make a case for either of the three to be No.1 in my list but then I can counter it with an argument as to why something else should be on top spot.

2. Dr. No.
3. Diamonds Are Forever.
4. Thunderball, contraversial I know, but it's only my opinion.

I'm very surprised how low people generally ranked YOLT. For me it was not far off the perfect Bond film. It seemed to have the perfect mix, some fantastic action scenes, a ludicrous villians hideout, great gadgets (it's not the nicotine that'll kill you), Helga Brandt made a fantastic appearance and we finally get to meet up with Blofeld. First class IMO:).

1. Thuderball --- off the charts. It's everything Bond Should be.
2. Goldfinger --- Too many people like it -- and I'm one of them.
3. FRWL --- It's a 5 Star movie, Just a perfect Blend.
4. Dr. No --- Great flick but Connery was just learning to play Bond.
5. YOLT --- Still a good Movie compared to the series as a whole, but this is a Connery list -- It's a tough list to crack.
6. DAF --- Some great scenes but overall the worst Connery. It's time to go Sean.

GF
FRWL (the first 3 Bonds are absolutely perfect)
DN

After the top 3, which in my opinion are all easy top 5 Bonds overall, I am not sure about this but..

TB (its better than the other 3, which isnt saying a whole lot)

YOLT (well compared to the last two..)

DAF (very funny, yet this is more of a Lazenby or Moore Bond, really not a Connery Bond, yet funny still)

NSNA (hmm? well I liked the tango scene, that was a classic, and the scene where he hands the guy the cigarette case and tells him not to move, and the scene where Connery gives Basinger a massage. Yes those 3 scenes were fantastic, other than that...totally sucked)

1-From Russia With Love: I will not argue about this. Read the book.
2-Goldfinger: Moves up if you include a scene where Leiter gets "Odd-Jobbed." Really a perfect movie without this particular portrayal.
3-Dr. No: The Casino Bond sequence is just...wait, I have to watch it right now.......Ok, I'm back.
4-Thunderball: Great book, overrated movie. Very slow at times.
5-You Only Live Twice: Good first half, but slows to a crawl in Japan.
11-Diamonds Are Forever: Did this movie really happen? I just bought Volume 1 of the DVD Box Set. Want to know my nightmare? Volume 2:Diamonds Are Forever, LALD, A View to a Kill, YOLT all in the same set. I can't discuss this any more.

Dr .NO was the first Bond film not perfect but still fun to watch. FRWL- you are right it's a great film . Thunderball is not that bad and has gotten a bad rap for the Director, it to me is the definitive Bond film . The right amount of action , sex and violence. all other attempt to live up to it. Goldfinger , well just read my thread about it being overrated . Bond really does not but react to every thing around him. Also no one regardless of how handsome . Could change a committed lesbian. pure male fanstay. Great sci-fi Bond moves at a okay speed , think that the problems on the set with the change of Blofeld's during film. And Connery refusal to do another , causes people to over look at greating film. Just the sets alone are out of this world. DAF ,well it the first Roger Moore Bond movie. Too much slipstick , Connery got paid a fortune and still looks like he rather have a root canel. The failure to use the gay hit-men team of Wint and Kidd works against the film. Last , Charles Gray 's Blofeld . Mastermind criminal reduced to stand-up comedian .

1. FRWL (9/10)
2. Goldfinger (9/10)
3. Dr No (8/10)
4. Thunderball (8/10)
5. YOLT (7/10)
6. DaF (6/10)
7. NSNA (4/10)

The only movement in these positions for me is that TB and Yolt sometimes exchange places depending on my mood....although I know instinctively TB is the better film Yolt is just one I find good unadulterated fun.

TB is the zenith of the Connery Bond and contains for me still the best single performance as James Bond. Connery is ultra-cool and assured in that one.

1 Goldfinger (Great soundtrack, the Aston Martin, Connery's suit)
2 Diamonds are Forever (Just love this one. Love it)
3 From Russia With Love (Ultra cool storyline and Robert Shaw, of course)
4 You Only Live Twice (Great fun. "Close the shutters...")
5 Thunderball (Somewhat underwhelming for me but I plan a rewatch soon)
6 Dr No (Too many elements of the Bond I grew up with are missing..still love it though)

I'm so pleased at least someone here shares the love for DAF & YOLT! B) For me, irrespective of how dated these movies now are, these films are what Bond is all about.
