1. Goldfinger - Classic. The first Connery I saw.
2. You Only Live Twice - Because it stars Donald Pleasence and he is one of the greatest actors ever!
3. From Russia With Love - The first Connery that I really watched in any detail. Six times in one day once.
4. Dr. No - A great way to kick the series off.
5. Thunderball - Didn't really stick first time. Was once at first, but now it just drags.
6. Diamonds Are Forever - Run 'James Bond Jokes' through a search engine and it brings this up. Honestly!

That is much tougher than ranking Roger's films. On a different day of the week this list could be completely changed, but I think this list is how I feel most of the time.

2) Goldfinger
3) Thunderball
4) Diamonds Are Forever
5) Dr. No
6) You Only Live Twice
The first two are pretty solidified in their positions, the others can move around depending on what I've just seen. I used to disdain DAF but recently have grown to like quite a bit about it. YOLT on the other hand has moved down with more recent viewings, even though there are of course still good things about it.
Interestingly I've just realized that's pretty much how I'd rank Connery's performances in his Bond films.

Thunderball
Dr. No
Goldfinger
You Only Live Twice
Diamonds Are Forever
These are not revolutionary choices.
Still maintaining my view that Dr. No works better in black and white.

-Goldfinger: Can't explain this really, ever since I first saw this I just thought it was really fantastic. First movie to really setup the pattern for the rest to follow, Goldfinger and Oddjob are among the best villains, the DB5, the Fort Knox climax, classic Bond.
-From Russia With Love: Faithful Fleming adaption, some of the best casting (Grant, Kerim, Tatiana, Klebb). Great spy thriller. Nice and complex, just the way I like'em.
-Thunderball:One of my first Connerys, fastpaced for the most part, actually imrpoves on Fleming's original story. Would be higher if not for the overlonged plane hijacking bit.
-Dr. No: The first and so they're experimenting with this whole Bond thing, slow at some parts, has Connery at his meanest.
You Only Live Twice:The first of the completely over the top, epic Bond films. I just find it to be rather dull.
Diamonds Are Forever: The first of the films to bring in more humor than needed, or try to, and go for a laugh whenever they can. (It started here, not with Moore).

1) From Russia With Love. Rosa Kleb, Red Grant and Tatiana are all fantastic, the gypsy camp scene and, strange but true, I really loved the chess scene with #5. Message on the mat. Genius!
2) Goldfinger. Had to be up there really didn't it.
3) Thunderball. Mainly because Fiona was great and some nice unerwater stuff. Let down by that bizarre introduction fight scene.
4) Dr No. Great opener to the series but it drags in places and hadn't yet developed that Bondesque feel to it.
5) Diamonds Are Forever. Great to have Connery back, wrinkles and all. Love the death by scorpion bit but can't stand Wint and Kid generally, they really let it down, and the criminal misuse of Bambi and Thumper.
6) You Only Live Twice. Don't really know why I've placed this last, I just never seem to have connected with it. I think my main beef is that we should NEVER have seen any more of Blofeld than his hands.

1.Goldfinger- for the suspense, action, the mastermind villain, Oddjob, the Aston, and "No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!" Classic line. The first Bond film I ever saw.
2.From Russia With Love- for the brilliant casting of Robert Shaw, and the idea of being on the Orient Express.
3.Dr. No- an excellent start to a now legendary series. Oh, and of course there's Honey.
4.Thunderball- the underwater sequences were pretty good. I also liked those nifty gadgets.
5.Diamonds Are Forever- even though Connery wore that pink tie (a short, pink tie, dammit!), was wrinkly, and "hefty," I still enjoy the humour.
6.You Only Live Twice- even though I like this film, it just seems Connery wasn't trying hard enough. I do like the part immediately after the titles, though. Perhaps next time I watch it, I'll take in the subtext a little more.

2 Thunderball*

4 Goldfinger
5 You Only Live Twice
6 Diamonds Are Forever
*Interchangeable.
And how in hell Diamonds Are Forever got off the bottom of your lists is beyond me (unless You Only Live Twice was under it). ???

2) Thunderball - Pure class, yeah the underwater scenes are a little slow and the plot doesn't leave for alot of mystery, but superb location and terrfic oneliners make it second for me.
3) From Russia With Love - Some say its a little slow, but I've never been close to bored by it. Kleeb, Grant, Kerim Bay, Tania, Kronsteen, great group of characters. The plot is real excellent and the faceless Blofeld is so cool.
4) Doctor No - The more I see it the more I like it. The second half is a littel slow and that dragon couldn't fool anyone, but the first half is terrific, I like that sort of Bond, following leads, avoiding getting killed, meaing nice ladies, so on.
5) Diamonds Are Forever - Heck, I know that technically its not tht great a film, but its the one I probably watch the most. Connerys a little old and a little fat, but who cares ? I like the gambling, the gangster type dudes, Wint & Kidd, Bambi & Thumper, the diamonds, the lights of Vegas, even the moonbuggy, this film has everything.
6) You Only Live Twice - Also good, some days I like and some days I don't as much. Tanaka and Helg are good, but some of the other characters aren't developed enough. Gets a little boring after the Ninja school scene. Still good though
7) Never Say Never Again - Sorry, but I really didn't think much of this film. Had I not known it wasn't a proper Bond film, I easily could have guessed for myself. Easily goes in last place.
Overall, ranking the Connery films is a bit harder to do than the Moore ones.

1)Diamonds Are Forever- this movie is just sooooo good.
2)Goldfinger- It is so long and eventful
3) I don't know if this counts but I would have to put Never Say Never Again, why you ask because he does play Jame Bond.
The rest of the movies are a blank to me even though I have them on tape, I will have to sit down on weekend and watch them.

1. From Russia With Love-just a fine script, Connery's best acting, very gritty film
2. Goldfinger-classic Bond concepts that are now overused, great villain, great sidekick
3. Thunderball-great Bond girl, Largo's fantastic and the plot is big without being over the top
4. Dr. No-good, full of classic, well written bits, but a little too old school
5. Diamonds Are Forever-dumb as a rock, hate Blofeld in this, but okay
6. You Only Live Twice-too over the top for me, hate the volcano
7. Never Say Never Again-idiotic, but fun for it's sheer retardness

RANKING OF THE CONNERY BOND MOVIES
(to date)
The results have polarised the chart with two runaway favourites and two clearly vying for the "wooden spoon."
[order=1][#1]Goldfinger - 45[#2]From Russia With Love - 47[#3]Thunderball - 66[#4]Dr. No - 87[#5]You Only Live Twice - 102[#6]Diamonds Are Forever - 114[/order]
As the chart shows, Goldfinger has reached the top with 50% of the votes. In fact, 73% of the rankers have voted Goldfinger and From Russia With Love as their 1st or 2nd best.
On the other hand Diamonds Are Forever got 59% of the vote for last place (77% voted it either 5th or 6th).
