There are many beautiful places in the Balkans for Bond to visit, such as Croatia:

The Plitvice Lakes:

Somwhere like the Postojna Caves in Slovenia would make a great villain's base, with it's own railway and gantries.

The abandoned railyway at Parenzana, Croatia.

The Fortress of Lovrijenac, Croatia.

Fort Bokar, Croatia.

Some beautiful pictures there, Shark.

My top picks:

- Australia
- New York City
- Montreal

I wouldn't mind Croatia either.

Or the opening scene in casino royale with Le chiffe and Mr white and the African dudes.

That was Black Park, Buckinghamshire, England! Just a few minutes drive from Pinewood. I've fed ducks there!

By the way, the night car chase scene from Goldfinger was filmed there too.

I don't think it would work as the villain's base of operations; the idea of an underground lair in what is obviously a tourist attraction wouldn't go own to well. But it would certainly work if Bond were tailing as suspect and got into a firefight.

Altough Craig has admitted his lack of skiing abillities, I think that a mountain-snow terrain would be really good!

I could be wrong but Croatia is not that cost efficient right now to shoot in.

The Fort Bakur looks promising, but the cathedrals etc just scream Montenegro, Venice and Sienna to me.

Well I didn't necessarily mean THAT particular cave, but since there are so many similar Caves throughout the Balkans you recreate one at Pinewood without it being based on a tourist destination. Hell you even through in a giant squid and some tarantulas for good measures (i.e. the climax of the literary Dr No).

my God, Croatia really looks wonderfull! cool pics

Thanks! I'm planning on taking my girl there this summer, currently raising the funds and planning hotels and routes.

I could be wrong but Croatia is not that cost efficient right now to shoot in.

Certain locations would be more easy to recreate on set i.e. The fortresses and towns, with possible doubles in Italy or the south of France. However the places that I really like - the Plitvice Lakes, and Kornatie Islands would obviously be much harder and less cost effective to properly construct, without resorting to CGI.

The Fort Bakur looks promising, but the cathedrals etc just scream Montenegro, Venice and Sienna to me.

I agree, though the towns and Diocletian's Palace do have a different vibe to them, more of a Mediterranean feel similar to Istanbul in FRWL.

He has been to India, but yes, you are right, not Sri Lanka yet.

I like the idea of a Bond film set there, with possibly Japan, China or Indonesia as the second location.

Yes I agree! A film in an East country would be very good! I especially prefer Japan. Their airport is stunnining! A camera in a helicopter can make a wonderful shot here!

I remember having an idea for a fan fiction piece ages ago that invovled the airport. The enrite thing is supported by hydraulic pylons that prevent it from sinking; my idea invovled somenoe rigging every last one under the tarmac witha small shaped explosive device that, when activated, would force the load-bearing section of the pylon upwards with enough forced to punch through the tarmac just as a plane was landing. The hundreds (or even thousands) of pylons sticking through the tarmac would proceed to carve their way through the fuselage of the plane, destorying it and killing everyone on-board.

I'm with Diabolik on this one and feel the Bone church in Sedlac would be an excellent choice.

I have done a bit of research on the Ossuary and have incorporated it in my latest Fan fic

Although European locations are great they have become overused. If anything they should look at lesser known but scenic places like Transylvania (Romania), Kiev (Ukraine) and Sofia (Bulgaria).

Also head to Africa or Asia for a change and drop the Americas.

This would fit in with my idea of having Bond in Asia, maybe visiting India and China with the finale in Japan, having finally tracked down Quantum's Asia boss.

Prague has been exhausted on the big screen in recent years. And it's sort of all been done in ROYALE with its real and fictional locales.

I reckon it's time for Bond to dig out his skis again. Italy has been covered extensively in the last two films and I thought the desert was a bit dull in QOS. Maybe it's time he went back to the Alps.

There are ways round it. George Lazenby has always maintained he wasn't allowed to ski anyway, for insurance reasons. And the doc on the FYEO dvd showed Roger Moore kneeling down on a sledge for close-ups
