It is clearly Nicole Kidman's movie though, with Daniel in a definite supporting role.

And she'll have more to lose since her career has been struggling the last few years. Craig is still being recognized by people and most seeing Invasion, if they recognize him at all, will probably think "Hey, that's the guy who played Bond in Casino Royale."

Opinions are opinions, but it doesn't seem to be getting outstanding reviews so far: http://www.rottentom...com/m/invasion/

The Bond curse endures.

Yeah, well, I expected that. It had a very troubled production and the word of mouth has been very bad. Oh well, I do think Craig and Kidman will both rebound with The Golden Compass.

As a Bond fan, I don't really care whether or not Craig's other movies do well. In fact, he might play 007 longer if they don't.

$6 million opening weekend... Ouch. 22% on Rotten Tomatoes (campared to Casino Royale's 96%).

Daniel Craig, shame on you! Ten minutes' screen time--and you couldn't even do that right?

What were you doing, Daniel, playing the rakish studmuffin--when your big scene in the movie called for a geek to be rebuffed by Nicole Kidman, who only wants to be friends?

Here's hoping you do better with your 15-20 minutes' time (my bet) in the Golden Compass. So far we have no guarantees that you're a major draw in anything other than Bond. A fate allother Bonds have had to fight to overcome.

I want my money back for Invasion. And I'm more convinced now than ever: a last minute change in directors a clear-enough sign of a clunker.

Craig's character in Golden Compass only appears in a few chapters, but his presence is felt all through out. I imagine you're not far off in suggesting he'll only have 15 to 20 minutes of screentime.

remember he shoot this film in september 2005 ,before he was cast as 007
anyway I think the movie didn't work at all ,but daniel managed to steal the show whenever he was onscreen

If THE GOLDEN COMPASS proves to be a hit, Craig's role should grow larger in the sequel(s).

Depends on how faithful they stay to the books. I'm nearing the end of the second book and his character hasnt appeared once.

Was really disappointed by this film. It adds nothing new to the premise and has been clearly reedited and reshot. Notice Kidman's changing hairstyle and weight throughout. A boring, lifeless, TV movie like experience. Nice to see Bond and Felix together before CR!! I have to admit that I didn't get the ending though. I don't want to spoil it here for those yet to endure the film, so could anyone post their thoughts via PM??

Thanks!!

Sounds like the interview was made some time before McTeigue and the Wachowskis did their reshoots... :D

Too bad the delay isn't to add more bonus features, like including the original cut of the film along with the theatrical cut.

I liked the movie overall, but you could feel where the reshoots/re-edits were and they often, especially in the climactic action sequence, brought the film down.

I skipped it in theaters, because of the negative reviews. I'll definitely check it out on DVD though, but I'm disappointed because people keep saying how the movie was taken away and reshot by the Wachowskis (can't call them brothers anymore, now can we? :D ), and I would be curious to see the director's original version.

Someone, please, let me know if the DVD does anything to alter the status of this film as the worst non-Bond film ever made by any of the Six.
