Blah, that list lacks creativity. Where are the "out of left field" choices ala Craig? I think the casting of Craig has risen the bar for the role of James Bond, I hope when he (eventually) leaves the role, EON goes for someone equally "out there."
Jimmy, do you have any names on your 'radar' as potential future Bond material that haven't cropped up yet? I'm endlessly fascinated by 'next Bond' pages and the possibilities thrown up by fans.

There is an interesting 'vote for the next Bond' page here that takes age into account and lists candidates who are young enough to succeed Craig. I placed my vote for Alex O'Lachlan. The people behind this page don't seem like huge fans of Daniel Craig but it's interesting to see a (mostly) new list of candidates.

I'm going to guess by some of the comments on that page that whoever runs the site isn't exactly a Craig fan...

The odds are that NONE of the front runners will get the contract.
Eon will have their own list when the time comes and i'm willing to bet that there will be candidates on that list that no one has heard of as of September '06.

If the public really picks up on CR and the character's new beginning, his new character and his new look.
If they do, I'd wager they'd want to continue the success they had with all this newness comes DC's departure and cast someone that looks like DC. Not tall, but really built up, blonde spikey hair, deep set eyes - not your traditional tall, dark & handsome chap. As obvious as that sounds, EON did not do that with PB. After being super popular, they tossed all that out for CR - so they've shown they are willing to go a completely different route.
If the public reject DC, they'd be looking for another Brosnan type, I guess. Which would be okay, but PLEASE toughen this chap a bit. Put him through a training camp for Bond stars, rather than have his nails done.
(just kidding)
What a shame they don't go shopping for a Connery type instead of ALL of this. IMO.

My point? Ask this same question in mid December and we can all weigh in with a little more definite ideas.
thanks

I am focused on CR and could care less about future bond casting.
Bond fans always seem to think about the future. The first thread on these forums back in 2000/2001 or whatever was about Bond 21.

Would someone like Christian Bale be a good bond?
He was the worst Batman yet. (Shifting between a droning, narcoleptic monotone and bellowing like an idiot doesn't qualify as good acting to me.) That, and he's one of the most off-putting, nauseating actors I've ever seen. I would avoid a Bond film with him on principle.
Gerald Butler is a solid actor, but nothing special. He doesn't have the oomph for Bond.
Jackman I could accept, with reservations (seems much too high-profile to be a comfortable fit).
Owen won't do it, so that's a non-issue.
Cavill, I fully expect him to be Bond at some point. He's got that Timothy Dalton vibe around him. Certainly more Bond-like than Superman-like, to say the least. Right now he needs to grow up some.
Jack Davenport? Sorry, can't see it. His voice just throws me off, and he looks too boyish. Great comedian, though.
Ioan Gruffudd? I can see him in the part easily. Whether he wants it or not is another story.
Julian MacMahon? Can't see it. Has too much of a villain vibe, the anti-Bond if you will. I could see him as someobdy who'd cross sowrds with Craig before I could see him as Bond.
Goran? Not in a million years.
The other guys? On the fence.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE (Harry Potter in the Harry Potter series)
or
CHRISTIAN BALE (Batman from Batman Begins)
The only problem with Daniel Radcliffe would be that he is alot younger than Daniel Craig is, which would create some massive confusion if he followed him. He would be great though.
Christian Bale is just a flat out underrated actor that would be great at Bond.
Also, an honorable mention for James Bond that I wouldn't mind seeing is Hugh Jackman. that man perfects every role that he does.

Well there is another problem with Daniel Radcliffe, and its that he looks like this :

The lad looks like he could be blown over by a stray gust of wind!
I'm interested to know why you think he'd be great...

He's a bit scrawny and has a high pitched voice though.
But I mean, can't you picture him sitting in a chair saying, "Well I understand that Double O's have a VERY short life expectency."

Cillian Murphy kind of resembles the way Ian Fleming wanted James Bond to look if he slicked his hair back(I wouldn't be totally opposed to Cillian Murphy either.
