*bows* to the Babes of Bond on Bond who all would probably like to be literally on Bond.

I was wondering when someone would pick up on that!

and if Sean, George, Roger, Tim, Pierce or Daniel haven't returned your calls, PM me for my number. :)

Well, Tim hasn't yet (the rat!), but, of course, Bryce, you know I already have Sean's . . . :)

But then what will you tell Flicka?

The bastard....How dare he.

As for Flicka, she's my partner-in-espionage.

Nothing else.

and frankly, I'd tell her to join you, Sean and I for drinks. She'd buy the first round.

Whenever I read Fleming's 'Casino Royale', I picture Vesper as a lady not unlike Jennifer Connelly. She's American (born in Catskill Mountains), but that shouldn't be a problem I think. Good actress, classically beautiful but not in a 'boring' way- and best of all, I can picture her in an evening dress, in a casino. She would make an excellent Vesper Lynd, balancing the sensuality and the 'ironic chill' of the character.

I agree with your comments about Monica Bellucci, Alessandra. Yesterday I saw Gilliam's 'The Brothers Grimm', and she was very underwhelming as the Mirror Queen. Though I have to add she wasn't given much room to manoeuvre in a film crowded with messy effects and merciless overacting by all. And yes, she is a great looking forty year old. Too bad I've already got a girlfriend. :)

Jennifer Connelly is an excellent choice, Lounge Lizard! She's beautiful (with a face not unlike that of young Elizabeth Taylor) and a fine actress; I thought she was marvellous in A Beautiful Mind.

Did you know she started acting as a child? Her first role was a fairly substantial one, in Once Upon A Time In America -- a movie well worth seeing, I might add.

Never thought about the Taylor comparison... I'd say Connelly is less 'animal' than Liz, but she's never been tried in that sort of role I guess. They left Cleopatra to Bellucci in that dreadful second Asterix movie!

I did see Once Upon a Time..., many times actually, as it's one of my favourites. Those scenes with the young Noodles and Connelly as young Deborah are so touching; he spies on her and she teases him, neither of them knowing exactly where to go next. Ah, innocence lost... And A Beautiful Mind wasn't too shabby either. I first saw Jennifer Connelly as the stand-by action flick girlie in The Rocketeer, and I remember being pleasantly surprised circa Requiem for a Dream, when she had matured into a very fascinating and beautiful lady.

Actually, the resemblance to Taylor was not my own thought; I saw Connelly described like that in a newspaper, and then I started to look for the comparisons myself. There was a large spread on Jen in Vogue last year, and the facial resemblance to Liz at the same age (late 1950s, when she wore her black hair shoulder-length) was quite evident (but of course, not the physical allure of E.T.)

Once Upon A Time . . . is always one of my favourites, too! I find the whole movie very touching: the way one of the two childhood friends succeeds in every way possible, while the other ends up with less than nothing. (By the way, did you know that all the exterior shots were filmed in Montreal? They didn't even have to construct sets, because that city was so perfect to represent New York's turn-of-the-century Lower East Side.)

You're a walking triviafest, Wendy! I suppose that's one of the reasons why Mr. Dalton claims you as his possession- linguistically, that is. :) Can almost hear him say it: 'I like it when a woman is well-informed.'

I believe I read the Montreal fact in Douglas Brode's 'The Films of Robert De Niro', that book has quite a good section on Once Upon a Time... I believe The Score was also shot in Montreal.

I am that, Lounge Lizard, Baby!

Love the rest of your post! As it happens, according to an extremely reliable source (a biorthythm site I found on the web), Timothy Dalton and I have an intellectual compatibility of 95%.

So -- TIMOTHY DALTON -- DARLING!!! : if you're reading this, send me a pm, and I'll tell you what the remainder of the results were! (note to Mr. Dalton: Somewhere in those results is a 100% compatibility!!!!!! -- guess where?) :) :) :)

I know that site too and I like it that you're not as embarassed about that knowledge as I am. According to www.celebmatch.com, I had a 100 % match with the endearing and ubiquitous Japanese personality Satomi Yoshida. We've since had seventy-three children and have found a niche for ourselves as an acting couple in Kyoto, staging Ibsen and Strindberg as Kabuki plays. We're very happy.

Timothy and me are not going to hit it off, though, according to those lovely computers at celebmatch. A lousy 59 %. We're going to be great in bed, but intellectually and emotionally, Tim and I are in for a rough ride. It's probably because he's into fishing and antique furniture. Well, you can have him then.

Listen, my dear friend: if you look anything even remotely like your avatar, then I thank my lucky stars that Timothy and you are not going to hit it off!

I, however, happen to bear an incredible similarlity to my avatar (at least, I did, before I changed my hair colour from almost-black to deep auburn -- a state of affairs easily enough resolved), so right off, I think I stand a better chance with him than do you.

Also, I happen to be an excellent fisher . . .woman, and I know my Louis Quinze from my Directoire. :)

I stand by my earlier statement. With a 90% average compatibility overall, I can say only one thing: THE BIORHYTHM CHART KNOWS ALL!!!!

Believe me, I'm glad as well! :)

'Never argue with a woman with deep auburn hair, they're always right.'

Didn't know that one's supposed to resemble one's avatar. I've got blond hair and blue eyes, yet surprisingly, I don't look like Danny Craig. Perhaps I should. Maybe I'm the one who should have a face job, not him.

LOL :) well I'm sure Monica would gladly compete with your girlfriend??? :) :)
we very much agree on her... beatiful, but expressive and meaningful is another thing! :)

Jennifer Connelly would be an interesting choice (if they choose an American/British actress). As far as looks and attitude are concerned, she'd be absolutely great. I remember "the rocketeer" in which she really did strike me for her incredible beauty and those amazing eyes.
And of course, as Wendy mentioned, a beautiful mind.
The thing with her is that I think she would completely overshadow Craig. Much more experienced actress (in big films I mean), very popular, and very beautiful. I do believe he needs someone unknown or relatively unknown to pull it off better.
But yes, I would absolutely approve of Connelly as a choice.
Just KEEP ANGELINA AWAY!! lol :) :)

One doesn't really, of course; it's just a pet theory of mine that people often choose avatars which either resemble themselves, or (more so on this forum) convey their inner personalities. Lots of skulls and skeletons here!

It's not unlike choosing one's pet.

Sooner or later, one will turn up! Rest assured of that!

You know, L.L., with Babes, our brains work in ways different to the male mind. Our thoughts and our speeches may tend to wander off on tangents . . . but that is not necessarily a bad thing, since, quite often from these tangents emerges great wisdom! :)

we DO get the point AnGer! :)
speaking of which, let's turn the question on you guys.. I'm curious to know. Who would you want as Vesper Lynd and why? We'll compare women's and men's views on this.
Vesper must be beautiful, but very self-confident and mysterious at the same time. To me she also has that sort of "timeless" charm and grace that very little women manage to have. I think Elizabeth Taylor, or Vivien Leigh would've portrayed her wonderfully!
but we have to pick someone from nowadays...
Spy has already ruled out Keira Knightley whom I thought could've been nice as Vesper, so I take his word for it and settle on another one.
Can't help thinking about Ashley (Judd), whom I just LOVE.
And what about Winona Ryder?? too popular huh?? darn. lol :)
Diane Kruger?
just please, I beg you: NO Angelina Jolie!! :)

If she was more younger, I would of gone with Sharon Stone, as good as she looks for age now, casino calls for a fresher name.

But I choose more of a unknown, a actress who starred in the short lived tv show Fire Fly which is becoming a cult on dvd and the film based on that show, Senerity, her name is:

Morena Baccarin, beautiful looking, pretty talented, had a well written role in the tv series and the film.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1072555/

But I have a feeling, EON will push for a bigger name to sell tickets, if Craig's rep takes any more beating in the media, especially in the US.

But casting the woman has to be done with chemistry in mind with Daniel Craig, and since I'm not totally sold on Daniel Craig, it's tough choosing any woman for Casino, because I can't help picturing brosnan being in it.

Monica Belluci would of been good, especially with Brosnan.

But my top choice's website:

Hi Sean! :)
And thanks for posting your thoughts :)
I have to agree with you on Sharon Stone. If she were younger, she would've made a great Vesper. I actually didn't think about her, but you're making a very good point.
She has an incredible amount of sexiness, and very good looks. And with years, she has acquired an admirable class and an elegant way of moving. Too bad she's now too old to be Vesper, but very good idea, she would've been great! :)
NOOOOOW as for your beloved Morena. Very cute. But a little too "girl nextdoor" looking maybe to be Vesper? Although I've never seen her act, so I am not so sure, she may as well be a sexy bomb in the appropriate context! lol :)
It could be an idea, actually. She wouldn't overshadow Craig, and if her acting is good, she could pull it off well probably.
And what do you think about my compatriot Giovanna Mezzogiorno? (see pictures posted here in previous msgs..). :)
Morena is a good find actually. Send her name over to Eon and Sony?? :)
