Discuss Munich here!

I think Munich is going to be great! I can't wait to see Daniel Craig on the big screen so that I'm ready for 11/17/06! :)

I just posted in another thread that I believe Craig's worldwide profile will be raised when Munich comes out. Right now, no one has really seen Craig (worldwide) in anything except maybe Tomb Raider and Road To Perdition. But once they see Craig in Munich, I think they will start warming to him as James Bond as they see his potential.

I'm not so sure. While he may do an awesome acting job in Munich, from the pictures I've seen, he's playing another "other side of the spectrum of Bond" character that people may see, and come to an early conclusion on his performance as Bond. Hopefully they'll see that he is indeed a pretty good actor, but that's the best he'll probably get out of Munich, IMHO.

After his performance in Layer Cake, I can't wait for Munich....and that other movie he's going to be in...Casino something or other.

Absolutely agreed.

This movie will help "pre-sell" Craig and Casino Royale.

Although I'm not really interested in Munich, it will be interesting to see how it changes the perception of Craig, because it'll be his first role since becoming Bond. As for Oscar potential, who knows? It would be great if Craig got a supporting actor nomination, but its way too early to start predicting these things. Pedigree doesn't mean anything until people start seeing the film, let's not forget Spielberg flopped with supposed Important Oscar Film AMISTAD a few years back, then there was AI.

I'm very much looking forward to Munich and can't wait to see Daniel Craig on the big screen for a change, rather than watching him on DVD.

Saw it. Pretty intense looking movie. Looks like it might be another Schindler's List.
As for Daniel Craig, I only saw a couple of quick shots of him. Clearly, it's Eric Bana's film.

Perhaps it's just me, but in some of the shots Bana resembles a young Lazenby. It does indeed look quite intense, also has an interesting "period" vibe to it. My only fear is that it may have a "rushed" feel like Spielberg's last (WOTW), as it also had a famously short production schedule.

Looks good.

Is it me or does Craig have this amazing ability to change his look completely? Every film, I swear he almost looks like an entirely different guy.

Oh OK I actually thought this film was about the bombings, but that's obviously right where the movie starts, looks like kind of a spy thriller from this trailer. And yes Mr. Craig is looking good in his few brief appearances, very 70s looking. Pity he couldn't be the lead instead of Eric Bland-a!

It looks terrible, like all Spielberg last movies... :)
Such a shame for great actors like Kassovitz, Craig and Rush. Watching this, you realise how good the news "Eric Bana is not James Bond" is.

Darn straight. It looks phenomenal, IMO, and I can't wait to see it. Looks like it could be one of the best Spielberg entries since Schindler's List.

Anyone know anything about Craig's character in this? I'm assuming he plays an Israeli intelligence agent, but I may be wrong.

Wow. Now I will finally have a reason to go to the movies before November 2006.

The only unfortunate thing about this is I don't think Craig has a big enough role in this to raise his "star-power", I could be wrong though. Maybe "The Invasion" will do that.

MINORY REPORT is one of the best sci-fi films in recent years, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is a very good movie, and WAR OF THE WORLDS was deftly directed even if it was hollow. And let's not forget SCHINDLER'S LIST or SAVING PRIVATE RYAN or AMISTAD.

I gather from the trailer (I can see it now! :) ) that he is the team's driver. So yes is a Mossad agent.

It surely is a question of taste...
For me, Spielberg last good movie -and arguably the only good one with "Close encounters..." and "Colour purple", now that he modified "E.T." for politically correct indecent reasons- is Schindler's list. I found his last films pretentious and intellectually doubtful... It's only my opinion. I'm not a specıalıst in cinema, but, for me, Spielberg has nothing interessant to say anymore.
