Congrats Tarl_Cabot on your Chargers going to 10-2 yesterday, though Buffalo surprised me by giving you guys a good fight!! I'm recanting my previous thoughts about Baltimore in the Super Bowl.. I think that San Diego has a great chance.. ahh Round Two in our Denver vs. San Diego battle next week. I'm picturing us at the Casino Royale poker match: " Dove will have to go all in to call his bluff!" Dove: Call! *throws the chips down * " Full house, Kings and Aces! Mr. Cabot?" * shows the two jacks * Tarl: " Oops! You must have thought I was bluffing Mr Dove!!" lol..
My champs for this week gotta go to the Tennessee Titans and their kicker, Rob (my,my,my MY )Bironas!! 60 yard field goal to beat the Indianapolis Colts!!! oh and gotta give big props to New Orleans as well.. they're rolling along and have a great shot to win the NFC South..
Chumps: New York Giants, face it they're done!! oh and WTF is up with the Green Bay Packers losing 38-10 to the Jets AT Lambeau??!!

I expected a tough game from Buffalo. Shawne Merrman made a huge play on his 4th snap that changed the momentum for SD. Welcome back, Lights out!

the Green Bay Packers losing 38-10 to the Jets AT Lambeau??!!
What a great time to be a Jets fan. I didn't even think that this team was going to win 2 games all year, but Mangini has us in the playoff hunt. It's going to be a two-horse race between Payton and Mangini for Coach of the Year this season.

Here's my predictions for the championship games:
NFC: New Orleans vs Chicago (with Da Bears winning)
AFC: San Diego vs Indianapolis (with the San Diego, Super Chargers!! once again runining Peyton Manning and the Colts' dreams of a Vince Lombardi trophy!!)
Yes Tarl, I've jumped on the bandwagon for your Chargers..(with the exception of our round 2 battle next week!! lol)

Good choice.
San Diego vs Chicago
Chargers, 45
Bears, 3
too many ints for Rex and the defense looses critical run stopper....

Congrats to LT for setting the touchdown record!!
Champs for today: Jacksonville Jaguars smacking down the Indianapolis Colts 44-17 ??!! Putting up over 300 rushing yards against them?? WTF??? I know the Colts had a terrible run defense, but I mean come on!! lol
Also gotta give the Miami Dolphins props for beating New England 21-0!!! First shut out for the Pats since 2003!!
Haven't thought about my Chumps yet (my Broncos might have to be in this catagory) Will post them after the Monday Night Game tomorrow/

I now predict a new SB matchup! New Orleans vs. San Diego ( the Drew Brees Bowl, eh Tarl! Just like SB XXXVII was the Gruden Bowl ( Bucs over Raiders!)

Dallas has an inexperience QB and the offensive line is not good enoght, their defense allows too many big plays, so i don't pick them neither.
The still NFC Champions the Seattle Seahawks have the most experienced team of the Conference and Mike Holmgren knows how to handle a playoff game, but even so my favorite team is New Orleans because they are the most balanced team and Drew Brees, Deuce McAllister, Reggie Bush, Joe Horn and Marques Colston are too explosive.
In the AFC is more difficult because there are too many good teams but i belive the battle is between San Diego and Baltimore, and because Philip Rivers is too young i think the Baltimore Ravens will beat the Chargers in the AFC Championship game.
SuperBowl XLI:
Baltimore Ravens 20-16 New Orleans Saints.

Rivers is too young? Lemme give you two names: Tom Brady, in 2002 was a second year player, first year starter and won the SB.I'm not saying Rivers is Tom Brady yet but it's certainly possible for him to be a winning QB with the talent he's surrounded with. Ben Rothlisberger. Younger than Rivers is now when he won the SB and they are in the same draft class. Rivers doesn't have to do too much for them to score 30+ points and he has thrown only 6 ints to 18 tds for the year. That's excellent.
Steve Mcnair is a great player but I see alot of dump off passing...the chargers lost to Baltimore in week 3 because of a timid coaching approach, which has changed since...anyway, I still think Manning or Brady will be in the championship game against SD and SD will prevail.
SD-NO(or da Bears...still unsure)
Chargers will win a very exciting SB.
Hey Dove,
Jay Cutler looks pretty damn good...what an arm!
Looks like you finally have the proper successor to Elway.

Yes I'm encouraged by what I see in Cutler. After apparent successors in Bubby Brister, Chris Miller, Jarious Jackson, Brian Griese, Gus Ferrotte, Steve Buerlein, Bradlee Van Pelt and Jake Plummer, could we have finally gotten it right?? Only time will tell. But at least Denver isn't alone in the league in trying to replace a legend QB like Elway. After 7 or 8 QB experiments, it looks like the Cowboys finally have Troy Aikman's replacement in Tony Romo. The Miami Dolphins might also FINALLY have a decent successor to Dan Marino in Joey Harrington! As for the 49ers trying to fill the shoes of Steve Young and Joe Montana, the vote's still out on Alex Smith, but he's making big strides!!
Green Bay will be the next team when Favre finally decides to call it a career. Will Aaron Rodgers recover from his broken leg and develop into the QB of the future for the Packers??

Well I went to the Sunday night game in Denver last night to see Jay Cutler begin his era against the Seattle Seahawks..and we SUCKED!!!
Yeah, but we beat Arizona today, 37 - 20!!
Jay will do fine. John-boy didn't start out so well either.
(I lived in Denver in the early '80's, and was there when Elway came to town. Been hooked ever since. And I'm a Texan, born and raised.)
San Diego vs. Chicago for SBXXXXI
Chargers 48 - Bears 42
