Or even 'M' ....but certainly not James Bond! Hell, he looks older than Brosnan and wasn't it going around that Pierce was too "old".He'd make a good Le Chiffre.[edit] I really can't see someone like this bedding beautiful women and mixing it up at the baccarat tables.[edit] ...Ewan Stewart... [edit]
"The list is down to four."

I have to say, he certainly looks like what James Bond might look like...at 22, freshly kicked out of Eton. Can he act? He'd better be able to play someone in their LATE twenties...at least...
I will play James Bond before Ewan Stewart does.

Do you think that EoN will come out and deny this outrageous claim (Ewan Stewart?) Do you think his publicist will deny it any time soon? I don't think that I'll be able to sleep until this guy is completely out of the picture. If I were EoN, I would DEFINITELY come out and disown this guy, and get him as far away from CR as possible. They need to come out and deny this violently outrageous and flagrant act committed by The Daily Mirror.
It's so ridiculous I don't think they'll need to comment.

It's not easy to say what is true and what is not in this article. But at the risk of being off topic I would say Camilla Power could finally end up as our new Miss Moneypenny. She's 28 and has the looks IMHO.

I think it's safe to say that Ewan Stewart will not be James Bond. James Bond isn't ugly.
I was looking at a way to say the same thing.
Interesting how this one totally unacceptable choice makes the other three seem almost acceptable. Almost.
PS - I'll go along with the thesis that these four may have been auditioned other roles in the movie. Cavill seems like a good choice for a SMERSH assassin.

True, Clopin. It is very hard to tell what true here and what isn't. But we can confirm for you guys that Henry Cavill is or was a very real canidate.@zencat

I like your Power as Moneypenny idea, but I think Jazzy Bond beat you to this idea
here.
I'm going to be jumpy all week, I think, waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Zencat what do you think of this Croation poster claiming over at Mi6 that a Croation radio station says Goran won the Bond role? Anyway to check on this?

Don't know anything about that. Not sure I'm going to jump at news from a Croation radio station. And I could easily see yesterday's final four story somehow become "he's the one" via translation, especially with the, um, hometown advantage.Zencat what do you think of this Croation poster claiming over at Mi6 that a Croation radio station says Goran won the Bond role? If the producers are going to run with the "How did it all come to this?" YoungBond pretitle / OldBond restoffilm version of Casino Royale, it may be very probable that Cavill (very capable in Count of Monte Cristo) could be YoungBond and this Ewan Stewart the young-er M. Anyone else see a possible Bernard Lee resemblance?

When Eon does their start-of-filming press conferences, they like to bring the whole major cast with them: Bond, Bond Girl, Villain, a couple supporting players. This list of four are probably in the film, having been recently at final call-back auditions, but not as James Bond.

But if Judi Dench is still M, then that wouldn't work.

This list is 100% BS, If they choice one of these four, it will be the end of the series, or if it doesn't kill the series, it will cripple it- and I am starting to question the Broccoli's envolvement with the series, and I think that they should step down as producers of the Bond films and if they don't and go ahead with CR with one of these four actors- the film will be a disaster at the box office and both Broccoli and Wilson will be find themselves fired from the series.
I agree that Babs and Michael are less competent than Cubby, but there's no evidence that this list is valid. It may be a hoax or a smokescreen. I'd hold off judgment until they make an official announcement.

Whoa, that is one long sentence however technically since Barbara and Michael are the owners of the series they can't get "fired" hence one reason why the casting is taking quite a lot of time heck they've got quite a lot on their hands that we obviously won't know about.

Although he's signed to do X-Men 3 and a Wolverine stand-alone film, I still think Hugh Jackman would be the best. He's 35-ish, so he's younger than Owen and would be able to do at least 5 films. He wins most of the online polls I've come across, so you know the general public would accept him. Plus, he has shown the ability to be charming and stylish while not losing the dark side essential to Bond.
That being said, my gut reaction is EON's going to blow us all away with a complete unknown.
I would agree that Hugh Jackman is the best man for the job (after Brosnan that is) that's why it would make all the more sense for them to bring Brosnan back for Casino Royale, and then Jackman should be available for Bond 22. Brosnan in Casino Royale and then Jackman in Bond 22 is a win-win situation. Whearas most of the other rumored actors are probably a lose, lose and lose some more situation.

Well said, cvheady007. That is what think and what I hope for as well. GoldenEye brought me back from 007 despair. With letting go of Brosnan prematurely (IMO) and creating another "gap" by wasting a year on Jinx (their fault) and a year on the studio sale (not their fault), I am once again in somewhat a state of doubt and despair about the cinematic James Bond. I need another GE and another Pierce to pull me out and give me hope. They could pull off another GE...but another Pierce (when the actual Pierce still looks pretty darn good to me)...this is where it could go very wrong.Oh, who am I kidding...in a year and a half, no matter what, I will be watching Casino Royale in theaters...I just hope it makes me feel the way Goldeneye did....
Exactly!
Why in the he** do EON want to get rid of the best actor for the role who is out there today? They should get off of the drugs, and then bring Brosnan back!

You mean looks matter? I thought looks had gone by the wayside when Daniel Craig was being considered, but this is ridiculous!
Maybe they've thrown the idea of this other guy out there so that people would warm up to the idea of Daniel Craig as James Bond.
This list has to be a hoax. If CR stars one of these guys as Bond, then it will be the last Bond film ever made, and could potentially turn out worse than Die Another Day (if such a thing were possible).
