''Immortel'', a French science fiction film directed by Enki Bilal and adapted from his own graphic novel, in which the Egyptian god Horus arrives in a futuristic New York searching for a host body. Bial uses a mix of live actors and computer generated creatures filmed against green screen to successfully recreate the look of the original book. The end result works far better here than on the more expensive ''Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow''. I'm just a bit peeved that there is no English language or subtitles option on the extras disk.

I picked up Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection a few days ago. Apparently it's not supposed to be released until Tuesday, but I managed to find a store that was selling it. I'm very pleased with the documentaries contained on the set.

Indeed, I did.  I was shocked to see it on the shelves. -- and the price was great.  $76.00 for 15 discs is a steal.  Universal usually very good when it comes to releasing quality DVDs, so I was really surprised.  May have something to do with Turner Classic Movies' input.

I think you'll really enjoy the set, Devin.  No, I know you will.

Wow. I'll be getting it for $84 on amazon, which even that is a good deal for this set. But $76...:)

Kind of surprising considering the prices of these DVD's when they came out around 1999.

Getting the Two-Disc or regular version? The price difference at the Media Play I went to was about $7 I think - but worth it IMO for the two-disc.

Huh I didn't realize that there were two versions... Is the two-disc set full of extra bonus features or something?
