Not that weird. Imo, it was one of the worst stories. Just immensely, immensely dull. I have to force myself to pay attention for more than a few seconds when I watch it. Had to even the first time round.

Also picked up a little comedy I like, DEFENDING YOUR LIFE, from the $5 bin. Albert Brooks is a funny guy and Meryl Streep is, well, she cannot suck.

The glasses are seriously fooked up. I'll have to make do with the 2D version. Ah, nevermind. It only put me back £5.

Picked up the first four Dirty Harry movies in a set for $10. Some surprisingly good extras on each movie. I'm not much on Dead Pool, so I don't think I'll be picking that one up to complete the set.
Also grabbed FAR AND AWAY on DVD for Mrs. Twelve.
Was it a 4 Film Favorites DVD because I was just over at Best Buy and they had all of the WB 4 Film Favorites DVD sets on sale for $9.99 so I ended picking up the Ocean themed set that included: Ocean's 11 (1960), Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, and Ocean's Thirteen.
By the way 00Twelve are you a fan of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the only reason I ask is that Barnes and Noble is having a sale on the 3 disc 30th Anniversary set for only $9.99!!! That is not only a deal but a steal so I got that as well and what was funny was that the guy in the store, since the sale was for 50% off the regular price, thought it was on sale for $19.99 since the regular price was listed at 39.99 but when he checked the computer they ended up forgeting to update the regular price since it was cut to about $19.99. Anyway I am a huge fan of the film and its one of my favorites that Spielberg directed so I have been wanting to buy it and it was worth it since I would say this set is very comparable to the CR 3 Disc set from a presentation stand point. They even included a timeline for the 3 cuts of the film and tell you whats different on the timeline and a collectors book which is a lot thicker than the CR one. I am really impressed by it and recommend it to anyone.

I'd still beThe Rocky Blu-ray collection. From what I've seen so far, only ROCKY BALBOA is a truly essential Blu-ray in terms of picture quality - the older films, while they doubtless look better than ever and just about as good as they're ever going to look, aren't mindblowing on a visual level. Still, as a Rocky fanatic, I'm more than satisfied.

There's no real valid reason not to see BS at least once.Just ordered OVERNIGHT, an unusual order for me: it's about the director of the 'cult-film', BOONDOCK SAINTS. Now, I've never seen the movie--but was struck by the story of a bartender who writes a script, somehow charms his way into a blockbuster deal and big budget...then proceeds to self-destruct, antagonizing everybody. Before ordering, I did read Roger Ebert's review. I don't think this baby will disappoint the dodger. In fact, I may laugh so long and hard that I'll end up moved to see the fatally initialed BS.

*I don't find Duff quite enough of a prick to justify taking a completely guilt-free schadenfreude rollercoster ride through Overnight as many do, but I do find him to be enough of a prick to be justified in laughing at his self-declarations of anything beyond a medium level of talent.

obsessedinterested to see those colors pop in the final matches of the first two movies. I think the ROCKY II fight might look particularly swell in Blu-ray.
Well, heaven knows I'd never want to put anyone off buying Rocky films, but I gotta say I'm disappointed by what I've seen so far of the Blu-rays (barring ROCKY BALBOA).
I watched about half of ROCKY III yesterday and was struck by what seemed quite a large amount of grain, specks and glitches on the image. It's probably the single least impressive Blu-ray I've ever seen, actually.
It doesn't look as though the older Rocky films have been transferred to Blu-ray with any particular love or attention. Unlike the Bonds, it seems as though they've simply been whacked onto the Blu-ray format without any noticeable mastering into Blu-ray discs that are worthy of the name. Presumably, the Blu-ray consumer will be double-dipped with properly restored versions of the Rocky films on Blu-ray a few years from now, which is what we should have been given in the first place.
Yeah, they're better than the DVD transfers, but the improvements appear pretty marginal. Sadly, I'd recommend people spurn this allegedly super-duper Blu-ray box set and go for the considerably cheaper DVD versions instead.
