Considering whether a boxset of THE WIRE would be a sound investment. I've heard good things.

The 2 dvd release of QUANTUM OF SOLACE.
The complete 42 dvd set of JAMES BOND ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S SET (with every movie from DR. NO to CASINO ROYALE).
And from the new Warner Bros. Archive site I purchased dvds of...
DOC SAVAGE: THE MAN OF BRONZE - George Pal's last movie turned the pulp hero into camp silliness. Sigh. Still, the movie is on dvd for the first time AND in widescreen no less.
WESTBOUND - The last of the Budd Boetticher/Randolph Scott "Ranown Cycle" westerns to be released and the only one I still need. It's supposed weaker than the others but now I can see for myself. Wish they'd release Boetticher's uncut version of THE BULLFIGHTER AND THE LADY...
TOO HOT TO HANDLE - Clark Gable is a newsreel reporter and Myrna Loy is a pilot at odds with one another is this romantic comedy/adventure from 1938. Breezy fun, and one of my favorite Gable movies. Also: Myrna Loy = hot.
Edited to add:
LETHAL WEAPON COLLECTION - This has all four movies included, the first three being extended director's cuts. I'm not much for LW3 or LW4 but it was $18.00 for the set. For that amount, I can own all of them.
STAND BY ME - Last week I listened to the audio book of "The Body" by Stephen King, you know, the story the movie was based on. Read by Frank Muller no less. Fantastic stuff. I'd read the story a couple times before and seen the movie as well. After listening to Muller, I got an urge to see the movie as well. So I went out and bought it on Friday.
Ugh.
I don't know, it's okay, I guess... but it's not a patch on King's novella. The movie simplified and weakened the story considerably in translation. I sold the dvd used the next day. Never need to watch it again.
