Considering how good Planet Earth looks in Blu-Ray, I can only imagine how good an IMAX film looks on it. Hopefully they use the IMAX print of The Dark Knight for the HD Transfer.

Another classic Alfred Hitchcock masterpiece: Vertigo a film event!
Indeed. My favorite Hitchcock film of all time. What did you think of the ending they used for countries outside the U.S.?

This evening, I finally gave in and bought the 30th Anniversary edition of Jaws, even though I'm still disgusted that such a famous film has never gotten the dignity of a director, actor, or even producer commentary. It's in my top 5 fave films, and I just couldn't hold out.

Just busy watching Season 1 at the moment and loving it, and I've bought the second run ready for when I finish the first. The episode "Unfriendly skies" is my favourite, for any fan interested to know. Can't believe I didn't get into this years ago.

Took me five years to get into it. Really is a fantastic show, isn't it?CSI Las Vegas Season 2

Robot Chicken - Star Wars Special
A bud got this for me as a birthday gift. Really is pretty hilarious. The Palpatine/Vader phone conversation is, of course, one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Haven't gotten a chance to watch it on DVD yet, but I figured I'd pick it up since I'm still a relatively loyal Shyamalan fan (despite the turn-off that was Lady in the Water) and it was quite cheap.
The Happening... it's possibly even more difficult to classify (which is no easy thing considering the obtuse mess that Lady is). I'm probably in the minority for not being totally turned off by it, as seemingly everyone else was this summer. I really appreciate his effort of going back to a relative scarefest that worked so well in Sixth Sense and Signs, but the problem I felt during the theatre viewing was that the script was a little too flimsy to support his vision. The plot is an intriguing idea, but it just never comes to the forefront.
Again, judging from the theatrical viewing only: I didn't hate the film. If you ask me, it's an improvement over Lady, but not as grabbing as his first four thrillers, all of which I really enjoy.
I'm hoping a few DVD viewings will bring out the good in this film that's hiding in there somewhere. We'll see.

Yeah this is pretty awesome, with occasional hilarious early 70s "groovy" moments. Great early appearance from Christopher Walken too - "I don't like violence, man!"
