"Fratres!
Three weeks from now, I will be harvesting my crops. Imagine where you will be, and it will be so. Hold the line! Stay with me! If you find yourself alone, riding in the green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled. For you are in Elysium, and you're already dead!
....

Brothers, what we do in life... echoes in eternity. "

Picked up a sale copy of The Magic Christian. This almost stands as a sequel to the '67 Casino Royale, sharing many of that film's failings. A Goon teams up with two Pythons to write a script that's not much more than a series of comedy cameos for their celebrity mates. Billionaire Peter Sellers adopts down-and-out Ringo Starr and together they set about ritually humiliating the idle super rich passengers of a luxury liner. Christopher Lee stalks the staterooms in full Dracula outfit. Yul Brenner dons drag and woos Roman Polanski. It's a glorious mess. Worth checking out for the kitsch factor alone.

Jeez, no wonder the current editions were so cheap. I've bought the existing editions of all those (except for The Shining), within the last four months.

Yes, I've noticed the low prices for them. As with all DVDs low prices, to me, tend to indicate that SE/ultimate/etc editions are not far behind.

Spy Game came in the mail this week, another addition to my espionage collection.

The general opinion of it appears to be that it's mediocre, and that's what I thought too when first seeing it at Bryce (003)'s place three years ago.

Seeing it again now, however, it really touched me for some reason - and any film that can do that deserves a lot of praise.

(Then again, I got teary at 50 first dates, so forget I said that).

  • The Osterman Weekend (2 disc edition)
  • Danger: Diabolik (the original; not the Sharon Stone thingy)

The Doors: 15th anniversary edition.

One of the most underrated rock bios of all. Val Kilmer was robbed of an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Mr. Mojo Risin'.

Might not be worth that though... :cooltongue: (seriously, that seems like a pretty fair price for the film. Just a shame that it's nowhere near as good as the first two).

Kudos on that. That's my favorite Potter film.

Last DVD I bought was 'Hot Fuzz.' Do yourself a favor and pick it up.
