""Diamonds Are Forever" Screening in Hollywood"
Saturday, February 5th at 8:00pm

UPDATE: February 6, 2005...

"Purvis and Wade Take A Night Off"
Writing team attended 'Diamonds Are Forever' screening.

This should be a great screening as the Egyptian theater very often gets high quality prints of the film. I think this is another opportunity for the LA CBners! I'm sure Bryce is making sure the tux isn't at the cleaners!

DAF on the big screen could be very fun. I'm in!

Glad to hear it John. DAF and You Only Live Twice are the only two I need to see on the big screen. This should be great.

This sounds like a great event, I wish we had screenings like these as often here as well. Have fun everyone!

I want to go! We need more here in Florida! I will be in LA briefly for my first time in August, then I'll be off on a ship for two weeks. I can't wait to get out there!

What better way to spend an evening than seeing this classic Bond film on the big screen. :)

Now Ry, we know my tux is always ready to go and kept in a steel vault underground next to the Jaguar. Granted, it's a bit more like Batman than Bond, but...ahhhhh what're you gonna do?

I'm in and shooting up flares for Flicka and 004 as well.

See ya there.

Maybe we can all go out to Vegas afterwards....

...er....I mean...er...um...drinks...

Maybe we should give Lana Wood a call. :)

She would bring "plenty" of laughs to be sure. :)

I'll definitely have to try and make it to this one.

We MUST dine and have drinks before the screening! Is Musso & Franks is open, I think we should go there this time. But there's always Pig & Whistle. :)

Thanks for the invite Athena. I'm sure it would be a great time. I'll have to see what our plans are exactly. I really don't know what's going on yet. I think I'll be there for two days before I make the trip back to Florida by ship... Definitely sounds cool though. Is there any James Bond things ongoing around there?

Diamonds Are Forever is a week away... do we have a head count?

Oh and who's pre-ordered their tickets? Or is everyone just going to get them at the door?

Now that's I've recovered from the "Night of Bonding", I'll probably get my tickets tomorrow. 004's still not certain he can make it, but Miss Bellucci and I will. Flicka's going to be out of town though.

Musso and Frank's is a definate plan of attack. They do a great martini.

Hey Ry, they've got a vintage "Milk list" to browse.

OK, OK....Cheap shot. :)

We still need to discuss the DAF house in Palm Desert though. Might be fun for a few nights. We can all take turns being thrown in the pool by Athena. :)

I'll find out about 004 this week. Hopefully he'll make it. I'll bet it will be easy to get tickets at the door, but just in case, I'm going to take care of it tomorrow.

Looking forward to it, but two weekends in a row of the LA crew?????

*shudders*

Ehhhh....What're you gonna do?

First round of martini's on Bryce!

See ya there. :)

So I'm thinking drinks at "Musso & Frank Grill" before the film? I say before because the screening starts at 8pm and M&F is only open until 11pm. So... should we meet at M&F at 5:30ish? Have 2 hours to drink and talk... then 1/2 an hour to get our butts over to the theater? M&F is right across the street from the theater and to the right. Thoughts?

Waiting patiently for the day when a newly-cleaned up, THX-certified print goes out nationwide. If they can release Grease and ET, why not the Best of Bond?

Just got a call confirming my tickets and we're set for 5:30pm for Musso & Frank's.

Who knows....As it is a Saturday night in Hollywood, we may have to cruise Sunset.

Bar Marmont, Sky Bar, Key Club, Red Rocks...

All good fun....Just watch Ry's milk intake...Could get a little crazy...

Hello All.

I am a devoted Bond fan originally from the Midwest and I've been out here in LA for about a year. I am very much looking forward to Diamonds on the big screen. Do showings of the older 007 films happen often in Hollywood?

Hi Problem Eliminator... and welcome to CBn! You are certainly welcome to become a part of the LA CBn Crew. You could start with joining us at "Musso & Frank Grill" (right across the street from the theater and a bit to the right) on Saturday before the screening... we're meeting there at 5:30 pm (the reservation is under the name Axworthy). Do join us on Saturday, won't you? :)

The Egyptian theater seems to be the theater to watch for the 007 screenings: since I've noticed their schedule they've screened both Goldfinger and The Spy Who Loved Me in 2004. Live And Let Die was screened at the Directors guild in '03. I set up a screening (with help) of Moonraker at Cine-space, I've been talking with the event planner there and here's hoping they'll start screening some of the 007 films on their own.
