March 22nd is the release date for CROSSPLOT on DVD here in the USA so you have a little time.

Even if it means having to murder Carol, I'm ordering this movie. :)

Had a rather sexy Multi-Region DVD Player for my 44th, so I'm going to make it work for it's keep. :)

Hey Darren. An episode of 'Sherlock Holmes' was on tonight, but I came in half way through. :)

Hope you have a super Christmas Darren. :)

Cheers,

Ian

BBC America showed the episode "Anyone Can Play" which started off with Roger's Lord Brett downing sleeping pills with champagne. They played it like it was a normal routine. Gotta love those wild, wacky 1970s... :) Whatever the case, for me the episode was another joyous romp through this seemingly forgotten TV show. (Although not by some of us CBn'ers...)

"Anyone Can Play" is one of my preferred episode with "The Long Goodbye" and "Chain Of Events", one of the funniest!

When I get some more dosh, I may order these babies on region 1. :)

All we Limey's are stuck with, are the bare-bone region 2's. :)

Does anyone know, if the on-set interviews are included in any versions?.

Cheers,

Ian

Las Friday BBC America aired "The Old, the New, and the Deadly" which is probably one of the more comedy-heavy episodes, and it's villain was Patrick Troughton as an ex-Nazi collaborator! The scene where Danny Wilde gets out of the shower and answers the phone: "Mr. Schwartz? You must have the wrong number." Was either an improv or a scripted in-joke, as Tony Curtis' real name is Bernie Schwartz. The bit with the towel at the door with Roger saving Tony is priceless. The Mod nightclub scene was great, as was the entire episode. My favorite so far. Does all this sound like Greek to you? Then go and watch the show!

The persuaders is my favorite show of all time,i would even go so far as to say i like it even more than Bond.

The chemistry between Curtis and Moore is fantastic.I would urge anyone who has yet to see it to do so immidiately it really is first class.

My favorite episode is Greensleeves,a true classic.

Does anyone else have any favorites out there?

I think my favorite is the first episode, Overture. The establishment of their friendly rivalry is wonderful.

Love it.

Not sure I can name just one. Those I like best are Chain of Events, Read and Destroy, The Long Goodbye, The Old, the New and the Deadly and Five Miles To Midnight. Some of those reminded me of some Tara King-era Avengers episodes to a degree.

Just thought i'd bring this one back as i still don't know what the special features are on the second set of The Persuaders dvd's.

I'm just weighing up the pro's and con's of buying the series on region 1,as i already own the lot on region 2.

Can anyone help?

I read the same thing, maybe thats all there is? On the strength of that i don't think it would justify buying the set again.

A question for those who own set #1 of the A&E DVDs:

Which episodes are affected by the out-of-sync audio? I have read in several places that there are audio problems for "The Persuaders!" set. And does set #2 suffer from this problem?

Curtis Shows Off His Birthday Suit

Movie great Tony Curtis is celebrating his upcoming 80th birthday by baring all in the pages of the new Vanity Fair magazine. The Some Like It Hot star went nude, holding his pet Yorkshire terriers Daphne and Josephine to cover his genitals, at his Henderson, Nevada, home for the candid shot. The movie star will also feature in the season finale of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which has been directed by Quentin Tarantino.

I really hope they make a The Persuaders! movie or television movie. They made The Saint (1997) and The Avengers (1998) so hopefully The Persuaders! gets similar treatment.

Isn't it ironic that Roger Moore drove an Aston Martin as Lord Brett Sinclair but never as James Bond? :)
