Shame that MGM UK have been so unhelpful about Crossplot. I've been trying to convince them to release it for nearly 4 years. I even offered them a mountain of material to use as special features, including the Roger Moore / Milk Marketing Board trailer, campaign brochure, film magazine articles, behind the scenes stills, posters from all over the world and the opportunity to make a documentary or record a commentary. It was like banging your head against a brick wall. And then when I asked them to forward the info the MGM USA they couldn't be bothered! I don't understand these big companies!

Well somebody at MGM USA listened.Thought the DVD is sadly devoid of special features (except for the trailer)

Wow! That's sad. A friend of mine was able to do the docu for season 1 of Wonder Woman only because he offered to do it for free. Not sure if you were in a position to offer to do a docu for free. Didn't realize there was so much memoribilia out there on Crossplot.

I didn't realize there was so much material out there on the movie either. I'm not msure it really needs the special edition treatment.
BTW, that's a cool docu on the first season of Wonder Woman.-- tell your friend good job...Funnily enough just before opening this thread my colleagues were chatting about that show

Here's a question-had Roger been signed to play Bond in OHMSS, do you think he would've sported this hairstyle for that film?

And Claudie Lange is quite easy on the eyes.

I've wondered the same thing, TheSaint. I wouldn't have minded seeing him with that hairstyle even though I think they would have gone with a more traditional look for him as they did when he eventually became Bond. I think Roger looks his best in CROSSPLOT with that hairstyle.

Its possible the one Amazon has on its page was an early draft cover and that the DVD cover was changed by MGM prior to the DVD release.

I know it's the same movie but I don't like the cover for two reasons:It's the same movie Righty....I got the same packaging as you did.
Its possible the one Amazon has on its page was an early draft cover and that the DVD cover was changed by MGM prior to the DVD release.
1. The first cover is better.
2. The main menu is based on the first cover and not the final cover.

I would rather have the original poster art as the cover to Crossplot than the art used, though I did think the full figure version w/white background was cool.
The original poster artwork is fantastic. I used to have a 40x60 CROSSPLOT poster hanging up, but I have since replaced it with some of my Bond stills. I've still got the poster around somewhere though.

It was mildly entertaining, but had more than a couple of Bond similarities:
1. Opens with Moore secuding a beautiful woman. He is attired in a tuxedo. He has to leave immediately when his watch alarm goes off and he is "called to duty" (to his day job).
2. Credits are definitely inspired by the Bond films, with groovy "sixties" graphics and color along with beautiful women.
3. Early scenes with Roger Moore and Bernard Lee plays just like the Bond/M scenes that would follow a couple of years later.
4. The title song is similar to the early Bond songs and is sung by a Tom Jones "sound-a-like."
Not a great film, but very fascinating to watch to watch to see how the Bond producers could definitely visualize Moore as 007.
Does anyone know how/if this film influenced them to cast Moore? I know they had considered him years earlier, but this film has the exact same tone and attitude of the "Moore Bond films." It almost plays like a screen test for Bond.
On a side note, it also featured David Prowse (Darth Vader) as a member of the wedding party Moore breaks up as he's pursued by the baddies.
