It doesn't appear that he wrote the title song.

Ah. My mistake. Sorry about that. :cooltongue:

I'm gonna *BUMP* this thread because I re-watched Crossplot recently and while I stand by my initial criticisms, this time I found myself enjoying the film a heck of a lot! Must be in a Roger mood or something, but I think part of it has to do with the overall feel of the movie, which has that great "Mod", late Sixties-early Seventies atmosphere. IMO the period from 1968 to roughly 1973 seems to be a "Mini Decade" of sorts, where it's not quite either decade, but a mix of both. Okay, so I'm rambling on, but Crossplot is pretty enjoyable, and I may even buy it on DVD...

It would be great to see this at a revival house or some such.

You would appear to be in the perfect area for a "Mod Film Festival" with Crossplot and a bunch of similarly-themed movies from the era. I know that won't happen here...*Boo Hoo*!

I had a hard time tracking this one down, but finally found it when it was released on dvd a while back. I really enjoyed it too! Thanks for the post!
I'm a huge fan of The Saint and Roger of course. I believe a lot of the Saint production crew worked on this project.

I loved the dvd art too. They tried to make it look like a Bond movie!

Okay, I finally ordered CROSSPLOT on DVD and was unable to find anything regarding extras on it. I've seen the trailer on YouTube and it would be nice to have, but it looks like it's not on the DVD.

EDIT: The MGM website has the trailer for viewing.

DOUBLE EDIT: After reading through this thread agaian, I see that DJLibraSnow has mentioned that there is a trailer. Nice.

Isn't there a commentary track by Rog as well!? I read somewhere that there was.

Unless it's a hidden easter egg, there's no commentary on the US dvd.

Might be on the UK version then. Could be totally wrong. I thought he did commentaries for both CROSSPLOT and THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF around the same time.

Finally got the DVD (for a mere $7.98; new) and I really have taken a liking to this movie! The transfer is good except for the night crowd scene where it looks like the peace marchers are running around and the night is brown, rather than black. I also like the "showing off" of Claudine Lange, whose performance--I take back my previous comment about her ability-- is actually pretty good! And there's simply not enough of Martha Hyer for me to like or dislike her, though she seems about the same as virtually all her other roles. But at least SOME CAME RUNNING is out on DVD now, so for those of you who want to see her in her Oscar-nominated role, now's your chance. One of my favorite movies of the 1950s, BTW, with a *great* Elmer Bernstein score.

Good to hear Brian! It's a decent Roger film. I thought it was cool that most of the crew was from The Saint. I think my favorite scene in the movie is when they crash the wedding. Awesome stuff here.

Yes, the presence of the Saint crew did make CROSSPLOT feel like "old home week"!

One more thing...I was also happy that the trailer is included on the DVD, as it's loads of fun on it's own.

Crossplot location question, as I'll be in London next week...

There's a modern-looking building where Roger's Gary Fenn character works, and it's seen in the trailer when he's thrown the murder weapon from the baddie in the car. What's the building called and its location? If it still exists, I'd love to see it in person.

Didn't Roger Moore also record an audio commentary for Gold? I thought Anchor Bay at one point was going to do a new release of this title, but it has not come to pass?

Interesting that Moore did record a commentary for Crossplot around the same time he did one for The Man Who Haunted Himself. Hmm.

I really enjoy Crossplot. I'll still put it in every now and then. I wish they had issued it as Anamorphic widescreen though. FFolkes is a great one too.
