And God help me, I still have a soft spot for Prince's Partyman.

You as well? :)

Nothing like a scene of Nicholson destroying a museum with that playing.

Quite simply, the scores for the first two Batman films were outstanding.

Once again, i gotta speak up for Eliot Goldenthals' music in 3 and 4. It's good music, and the main tune is as memorable as Elfman's in a more fun adventure way. The next one will be by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, so here's hoping it lives up to what came before.

Let's face it, Nicholson owned the role of the Joker. Whoever picks up that role in Nolan's series has quite a performance to live up to!

Batman Returns is without a doubt my all time favorite batman movie. Michelle Pfeifer is perrrfect as Catwoman, and could be out Halle's catwoman imposter anyday of the week. The last scene is her best, and the scene at the party is very good.Danny Devito does good acting, even if he is grotesque he does good in the role. This also has the best music of the series something eerie and emotional. The credit song by Siouxsie and The Banshees would also make a good bond song itself, great voice and background music.

Batman Returns is the best because it isn't very comic bookish and dark and mysterious.

PS: Halle Berry as Catwoman is the biggest joke I've ever heard. First, she can't act IMO, look DAD & this crap. She totally gives the long line of catwomen a bad name. They should have went with the original idea of following what happens to Selina Kyle(Catwoman) after Batman Returns and having Ashley Judd or Michelle Pfeifer play the role(Both would want to do it to.)

You and I, Moonraker, share I think, completely identical tastes on every bit of this movie. The party scene when they revealed themselves to eachother was outstanding.

Out of the choices listed, Batman hands down. Michael Keaton had the emotional intensity but I feel he lacked the physical presence. I actually liked The Batman Animated Series more then I liked the movies. There were a few lame episodes but for the most part it was excellent. It was based on Bruce Timm's artistic style. His retro "Dark Deco" style really captured that grim gritty film noir feel. If your a Batman fan and you haven't seen it shame you. It's a real treat!

Well, I think she can act, but that part, well IMO it just doesn't work when you compare it to how good the character could be. I know it was completely on it's own and all, but they could have done better.

Can't beat the first one. Jack Nicholson as Napier, aka the Joker. Such a perfect casting job there.

Fav 66 villains :

The fearsome foursome (The Joker , The Penguin , The Riddler & Catwoman. No wonder I loved the 66 movie !)
Mr. Freeze #1 (George Sanders was awesome , imo)
Bookworm (a shame he only appeared in 2 ep's)
False Face (ditto)
King Tut (he must be re-invented & return to terrorize Gotham once more !)
Egghead (was OK , but his egg this & egg that quickly got boring)

"I do not know who's behind that mask of his , but I do know when we need him... ... and we need him NOW !" (In remembrance of Neil Hamilton 1899-1984)

I voted for Batman: The Movie as Adam West is my favourite Caped Crusader. My second favourite, oddly enough is Robert Lowery, who appeared in the 1949 serial, Batman and Robin.
Of the later films, the first Tim Burton Batman is my choice, as it had a great noir look to it, and Jack Nicholson was great.
The later two films didn't do anything for me, even though I like Kilmer a lot.

Why isn't the 1966 Flipino movie JAMES BATMAN not in the poll? :)

I actually ordered a Pal VHS copy of this for a friend who asked me to try and get it for him. One of the directors of the company I worked for in Indonesia happened to know Dolphy (a huge matinee idol in the Phillipines) through an aquaintance, so I was even able to get the cassette signed by him.

"Blue Eyes" is a lucky bloke! :)
