I believe the ideas in that script fell within the realm of "seriously new" :)

Yeah. Special forces dinosaurs toting machine guns, if I remember correctly (no, I'm not joking). It struck me as "seriously terrible". :P

Hehehehe, but the opening ideas were cool to, UN Forces deployed in America's heart land to help defend against dinosaurs migrating from South America...an attack on a Little League baseball game by vicious dinosaurs...then the whole bit with the specially trained and bred dino-commandos....

Man a Bad Movie fans wet dream!!!

Maybe someone will make it as a stand alone film some day lol

Hmmm... Forget this "special Forces" crap and just make the film about hordes of dinos rampaging through America. Now THAT I'd pay to see.

Bloody-Disgusting learned this weekend that Universal Pictures has officially begun casting for Jurassic Park IV, which will film in Kauai, Hawaii later this year! Laura Dern confirmed her return to the franchise as Dr. Ellie Sattler here as Sam Neill will NOT return. We're told that the film is about the government who has trained dinosaurs to carry weapons and use them for battle purposes. Based on the I can now safely declare that this franchise has entered 'ridiculous sequel mode'. Watch for more news soon.

WTF!!! Dino's in battle! OMFGG!!
I'll Probably give this one a miss!

That was an old plot rumour that circulated a couple of years back. I pray to God it's not true (I'm sure it's not). This film's been stuck in development hell for years, but I can't wait for it to get off the ground.

I was on the Universal Studios tour last week, where our guide mentioned the film was still in development, so hopefully there's some truth to this casting report and the film will get off the ground soon.

Jurassic Park 3 was nothing more than a rehash of the first one. Let the series die.

I'll take the third one over the other two.

Why?

Anyway, I think all the JURASSIC PARK films are wholly mediocre. The books were fantastic. Spielberg's kid-friendly films were not, and the third one isn't even worth mentioning. Unless this film has the intention of going for the adult tone of the novels, I have no interest.

Oh man do we really need a 4th Jurassic Park ? The first film was great, though not as good as the book. The second film and book were so-so and I didn't even bother seeing Jurassic Park III.. Kinda lost interest in the franchise after The Lost World. I think I would rather see them bring back Jaws for a fifth film to atone for the absoulty dreadful Jaws the Revenge.. :cooltongue: A sort of Casino Royale atoning for Die Another Day!! LOL

I for one quite enjoyed 2+3, at least a lot more than most summer/popcorn/blockbuster/whatever movies, so I wouldn't mind seeing a fourth.

I enjoy the first two and the third to a much lesser extent, but this just does not sound good. :cooltongue:

Really hope we see a somewhat intelligent plot.

I've posted this on another message board but I'd figure I'd post it here as well.

My Jurassic Park rankings.

1. Jurassic Park
2. Jurassic Park 3
3. The Lost World: Jurassic Park

My biggest problems with The Lost World are the absence of Sam Neill and Laura Dern and the lack of any new interesting characters except for Pete Postlethwaite as Roland Tembo. Everyone else including Vince Vaugh, Julian Moore, and several other good actors are nothing more then dino fodder. Their characters just weren't interesting. The film has a fine plot and action but I just didn't care about the characters. Oh, yes and Malcom's "daughter" almost single handly ruins the film. Thankfully Jeff Goldblum saves it and anchors the movie with his wisecracking performance.

Jurassic Park 3 on the other hand has no story but it's far more enjoyable then TLW. Sam Neill makes a welcome return as does Laura Dern although too briefly, and William H. Macy is always good. The action scenes are extremely well done and the film looks really good. There just isn't much depth and everything has a small scale feel. This is sort of like a made for TV sequel is that respect. The film also lacks a major climax. Having seen the bonus material is quite clear the Spino was suppose to come out of the ocean and attack the marines who just landed. Unfortunately the film ran out of time and money and it was scrapped.

I like to think that if you were to take the best elements of TLW and JP3 you would have an excellent sequel. I just hope JP4 is a follow-up worthy of the original. Hopefully it will be titled:

Jurassic Park IV:
NO KIDS IN THIS ONE

However I wouldn't say no to bringing Malcom's daughter back if she is eaten by a Raptor the minute they steps onto the island.

I also want the next film set on the real Jurassic Park, Isla Neblar, not Site B, Isla Sorna. I want to see how devastated the park has become and see the buildings all in ruins. My ideal cast would be Sam Neil, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, Pete Postlethwaite, Sir Richard Attenborough and Camilla Belle (the little British girl from The Lost World who's a full blown hottie now). I would also like to see Dodson and BioSyn figure into the plot as well.

Dinosaurs armed with guns?! Seriously, is this a joke? No matter which way they go about it, the concept is ludricrous.

I hear that! In fact, Jurassic Park holds an un-special place in my heart as the first movie where I discovered the power of hype, and that...gasp! Not every Hollywood blockbuster was in fact a good film. Where was Bond when we needed him?! And while we're at it, Lost World is easily one of the most insulting films I've ever seen, a showcase for Spielberg's worst impulses.

You're right about that. I've always wanted to see Raptors taken down by machine gun fire.

Indeed. When the time came, the hunter in TLW had his bullets removed!

It seems it is ok for the dinosaurs to be armed and kill human characters, but not the other way around.

As if the dinosaurs didnt have an advantage already.

So we have:

Raptors with Rifles, Brachiosaurus with Bazookas, Tyrannosaurus with 'Timers' and Plesiosaurus with 'Plastic'.

Maybe they should call it, 'Jurassic Rambo'. :cooltongue:

Obviously this will have to be followed by Jurassic Park 5 : The Reboot, where the producers will talk about "getting back to the original Crichton" and seeing the velociraptors become "the velociraptors we all know and love". Fans will be up in arms at the early first stills of the all new blonde velociraptor, and will launch a boycott site, velociraptornotdinosaur.com

I think this is a mistake. Someone saw some set pics showing what understandably looked like a dinosaur, and jumped to the wrong conclusion, but the film isn't actually JURASSIC PARK 4.
