When Predator and her were running into the screen like with the fire behind them, it was so funny! I thought of that scene in Batman and Robin where the dynamic duo are running at the screen with the theme playing! So campy and cheesy!I agree. I'm a "Predator" fan was disgusted and offended by the proceedings. A terrible film. The plot was stupid, the main characters were really used as sacrificial limbs instead of real people, and the film looked like it was made for 12-year olds. I didn't have high expectations for it once i realized the movie was rated PG-13.I saw AVP today. What an absolutely atrocious film and an insult to both franchises. Ugh. An absolute trainwreck of a movie with worthless characters, a terrible plot line, and horrible action. What they do with the Aliens and Predators is totally inexcusable. Worst film I've seen in a good long while.

**SPOILER ALERT**
The one scene that embarrased and tuned me out for the rest of the movie was when Sanaa Lathan, the main guide, teamed up with the Predator to kill off the aliens. Predator, friendly? As a good guy? From that point on I knew the Predator wasn't frightening all anymore.
A disgrace to both franchises. Notice that FOX didn't give a screen test to the critics before the film opened? This film should be burned...

There's an interview with Anderson at Bloody-Disgusting.com in which he says Fox only told him of their decision to edit the film for a PG-13 classification three weeks before it was due for release. The R-rated version won't just have more blood and violence but will include a lost sub plot and extra effects footage that wasn't completed in time.I think the extended edition could be better. Maybe we can see then:
More gore and a R rating
Better insight in the characters
And some more
Not trying to make excuses for the guy, but doesn't sixty-five million dollars sound like a miserly budget for a modern day science fiction/action movie?

Well it's broken the fifty million mark in the US . While AVP is hardly a runaway success, It doesn't look like the studio are going to suffer a bloody nose over this.It does not open in Europe until October, but I read that it is doing much better than expected, which leads the way (more than likely) to a continuation of both franchieses.
Actually, after all the snide jibes Sigourney Weaver has made regarding the film, I'd love to see it out-perform 'The Village'. Long shot, but it might just happen.

I assume he means box-office wise. As director he wouldv'e been involved closely in the editing process so he would know how the movie turned out length wise. He was hoping his movie to be 160 minutes long!?

Hey, I'd be pretty ticked off, too, if I was told to make my film into a PG-13 film when all of the past films from both franchises were rated R, and being told to do so only three weeks before it's release, no less.
And yes, apparently he did want it to be over two hours long.
