Even though it was in Die Another Day, it might have been interesting, albiet quite another "black sheep" to hear London Calling as a title song with a main title sequence.

I've always felt that Lead Zeppelin's Kashmir has a very Bondian sound to it. Perhaps a change of lyrics with a more subdued vocal track and it would be perfect as a Bond song.

The instrumental parts reminds me a lot of George Martin's score to Live And Let Die.

May have been mentioned before...but I put my vote in for 'Scoundrel Days' by A-ha. :) Sure, they did 'The Living Daylights', but this song...it's mood, it's lyrics...make it an even stronger contender for a Bond title song methinks. :) Ohhhh...and that reminds me...I've been meaning to post in that A-ha thread around here... :)

Here are the lyrics to 'Scoundrel Days':

(Mags/Pal Waaktaar)

Was that somebody screaming
It wasn't me for sure
I lift my head up from uneasy pillows
Put my feet on the floor
Cut my wrist on a bad thought
And head for the door

Outside on the pavement
The dark makes no noise
I can feel the sweat on my lips
Leaking into my mouth
I'm heading out for the steep hills
They're leaving me no choice

And see... as our lives are in the making;
We belive through the lies and the hating
That love goes free

For want of an option
I run the wind 'round
I dream pictures of houses burning
Never knowing nothing else to do
With death comes the morning
Unannounced and new

Was it too much to ask for
To pull a little weight
They forgive anything but greatness
These are scoundrel days
And I'm close to calling out their names
As pride hits my face
Woah!

See...as our lives are in the making:
We believe through their lies and the hating
That love goes free through scoundrel days

I reach the edge of town
I've got blood in my hair
Their hands touch my body
From everywhere
But I know that I've made it
As I run into the air

And see...as our lives are in the making:
We believe through the lies and the hating
That love goes through
Through scoundrel days

Oh, I also choose: Fur Patrol - Brightest Star.

Chorus goes like this:

"So we wonder what you would have done
If you had seen just what she would be
She never will be, what you think she should be
And if you had known that she would go this far
You would not have shot the brightest star"

I vote for the theme from Loaded Gun sung by Matt Dusk on his new album, it's the song I'm imagining as the theme for my fanfic movie treatment - Kiss of Danger.

Here's the lyrics:

He plays the game
Like a moth that finds love in a flame
He's flying high
But desire will burn him alive

This is the price you pay
When you're heart is fooling your eyes

She plays the game
where the hunter turns into the prey
He wants her still
But the black widow's beauty will kill

Caught in the tender trap
Where the story of heartache begins

What makes that man gamble all on love
He's played but never won
The roulet he knows is of the Russian kind
Watch out... 'cause love's a loaded gun

They play the game
Win or lose they're damned either way
He ends up alone
Cause medusa turns hearts into stone

She knows theres no way out
But made him believe he could win

What makes that man gamble all on love
He's played but never won
The roulette he knows is of the Russian kind
Watch out... 'cause love's a loaded gun

What makes that man gamble all on love
He's played but never won
The roulette he knows is of the Russian kind
Watch out... 'cause love's a loaded gun

'Into the West' by Annie Lennox is a good choice for an end title song.

Easier to Run, My December, and Breaking to Habbit by Linkin Park. You may start the bashing now.

Well as you hinted at it....Yes, I could easily bash anything by Linkin Park for Bond 21, but I respect your opinion. Never will agree with it though for them.

There's countless songs that I've heard that could have easily been a song in a Bond film. For example:

Sweetest Taboo by Sade could have been the Bond song for a third Dalton film, or slightly altered to fit TLD or LTK.

What songs can you think of?

Sade's SMOOTH OPERATOR and SWEETEST TABU both have a Bond theme type of sound to it, especially for a movie based on CASINO ROYALE.

A soundtrack heavily laden with music by Sade' and Lisa Stansfield would be perfect if Bond 21 is CASINO ROYALE. Maybe throw in David Bowie's LET'S DANCE for good measure.

What You Are by Dave Matthews Band. One of two good songs off the Everyday album, and it could be good for a grittier, more down to earth Bond film, especially if the "mother[censored]er" outro was used, like the amazing live verisons (DMB fans will know what I mean).

Some other interesting choices would be Mama's Tripping by Ben Harper, or I will by Radiohead...

I agree on Smooth Operator. Definitely sparks some great main title sequence ideas. A song I recently heard, Thief of Hearts, which is an early 90's Madonna song is one I've though about.

It's a harsher song, with one specific 'harsher' word used often, but I can imagine a very cool main title sequence for it, focusing on a Bond girl.

At Vance - Broken Vow

That's a metal song and it sounds really good, and could've worked for Bond. It's fast, but not raw or hard. Just perfect!

I must have been out in the field too long coz I dont even knw half the names memtioned in this thread. :)

I may be square and or nonhip or something but surely the producers would pick a more known across the board sort of an artist or group for their movie. Who had not heard of any of the other artists before they were heard on a Bond movie? None I bet.

Well that's if they continue with what they did for Madonna.
