Sweetest Taboo by Sade could have been the Bond song for a third Dalton film, or slightly altered to fit TLD or LTK.
What songs can you think of?

JOHN BARRY - opening credits music for GAME OF DEATH (no ifs, no buts, this is Bond music, even though it turns up in a Bruce Lee film)
IAN BROWN - "F.E.A.R"
THE CURE - "Fascination Street" and "End"
ELECTRONIC - "Getting Away With It"
GOLDFRAPP - "Lovely Head"
MORRISSEY - "America Is Not the World" and "I Have Forgiven Jesus"
PET SHOP BOYS - "Dreaming of the Queen"
UNKLE - "Reign"

Exactly what I was going to say. I remember finally getting to the end credits of The Avengers (which is damn near impossible) and thinking "hmm, that could actually work as a Bond theme."Storm by Grace Jones

I've always heard that ND was on the short list of bands considered for TWINE. I actually saw them with Garbage on tour here in LA and it was stellar.
Oh and LTK, congrats on 800 posts. Go for 800 more!

I just heard that, I can see where you're coming from with that idea. It's actually somewhat fine compared to some of her stuff.Toxic by Brittany Spears (love the strings in this) - for The World Is Not Enough.

It wasn't until recently with some of her songs that I realized she has a very suitable Bond title song voice. She could really make something if she ever got to it. Might be a good mix of modern and original style vocals, if that makes any sense. What's with "I Saved the World Today" from Annie Lennox. When i heard the song the first time, it was like a alternative Song for "The World is not Enough".

Most of Portishead's library would make superb Bond songs, All Mine, Sour Times, Glory Box being the outstanding (and most widely known efforts), Sour Times does sample Lalo Schifrin and they've descrived their style as 'Bondesque' in the past so their influences aren't exactly cryptic
I always thought that the Siouxsie and The Banshees/Danny Elfman collaboration for Batman Returns: Face To Face would have made a good Bond song
Mono's Life In Mono samples the Ipcress File (John Barry) and ends up sounding very moodily Bond:

Especially because of the twangy Bond-esque guitars at the start and throughout the song, and also the amazing ending to the song.
