A little bit about myself: I’m a male undergrad, originally from Aberdeen, Scotland and now studying at Warwick University. Career-wise, I hope to become a filmmaker and I already have a series of short films under my belt. Ever since I saw You Only Live Twice at 5 years old, I have been a Bond fanboy; I’m one of those OHMSS championing Dalton apologists who believes Craig’s tenure could be the second golden era of the franchise. And the worst Bond film is Diamonds Are Forever.
I’m looking forward to spending time on the forums; have been a CBn reader for a couple of years and, no *ss-kissing, it’s certainly the best Bond site on the web.

Another newb here. I was a member of the MI6 forums for a number of years under a different username, but got a little bit fed up with it around the time Casino Royale was released. A couple of years later, and I thought I might as well rejoin the 007 fan community.

Well, what can I say....I never really felt the need to join a Bond MB before, despite being a fan for pretty much all my life - certainly as far back as I can remember. But then, that is the joys of the internet - you find yourself mixing with some likeminded individuals whom you otherwise wouldn't get to meet!

I've been trying to think of the best, briefest, method of introduction!
I'm female, varied interests (films, writing, Jack the Ripper, criminology, psychology, Egyptology - lots of ologies! - fortean studies, music, motorbikes - all in no particular order).
Favourite Bond - depends on when you're asking, but usually Dalton.
Favourite Film - again, depends on mood, but generally You Only Live Twice.
Least Favourite - difficult. Toss up between Die Another Day and Tomorrow Never Dies.
Least Favourite Bond - don't have one. I like them all for different reasons. Well, with the possible exception of Lazenby, who I could have lived without
I read all kinds of books, non-fiction mainly, but some fiction (other than Fleming - Pratchett, Cornwell (Bernard, not Patricia!), Holt, Koontz - anything really, just don't come near me with any Catherine Cookson unless you can run really really fast....

I am primarily interested in the Ian Fleming novels, and, as such, can't say I'm pleased with the general direction the films took after Thunderball. Nevertheless, I believe Timothy Dalton was the closest Eon came to Fleming's Bond and, in recent years, I have come to appreciate the gallows humour of Diamonds Are Forever. Indeed, I'd say DAF was the last Bond film to be made with an adult audience in mind - it is certainly the most quotable.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what's available here. Already found a Mac thread - second post incoming!

Welcome to the site, Ambler. As a Fleming fan, you may be interested in checking out our book club of sorts, where you can read and post reviews of the Fleming and continuation Bond novels - mblbc.gif.
